After Tim Bartzs' video on Tuesday I didn't expect to hear anything on my July 12 First Edition order so I'm not really disappointed. Yesterday my salesman called me a said they had one just off the truck and as I have the oldest order they would give me the first crack at it. I old him I WANTED it but in the 15 minutes it took me to drive to the dealer another salesperson sold it. I WAS pissed at that. The sales manger apologized and said that should not have happened. Didn't make me feel any better.
Ah man! Talk about a roller coaster. I am sorry. Next time that happens and hope it does happen for you. When they call again, immediately put a deposit on it if they do that.
This happened to me and the Bronco Sport we got back in September. Salesman knew we wanted a Black Big Ben with the BB package. He sent me a text with this picture at 8 pm on a Friday night of one that just arrived. I told him I wanted but it was too late as they were closing soon. I was playing golf next morning so I knew I couldnโ€™t be there when they opened. I ask if I could put down a deposit, they said yes and next day about 2 started the paperwork. Was told if I hadnโ€™t done the deposit to hold it wouldโ€™ve been gone that morning for sure.

I think lux package is a problem the spray in bed liners are an issue right now.
That is true. When I went to add the LUX package to my XLT order, the dealer wasn't able to add SIBL when he was editing my order with me a few weeks back. The system would only let him add DIBL, which I opted for.

i amโ€ฆ. But not at anyone thatโ€™s getting their order. I am very angry at the situation that makes no sense at all. Thatโ€™s it.
Man, I'm one of the lucky ones who has already gotten a build date (today) and I really can't blame you. Honestly, it's kind of BS. I understand them building what they can with the parts that are available, but I really wish they would build the ones for the guys that already had their orders in before mine, again, assuming they have the parts. It really does seem like they are punishing the earlier movers while rewarding folks like me, who jumped on the train later. Of course I'm happy to have a build date, but it does take some of the fun out of it for me to see how downtrodden some of the members here are getting.

I dunno. My build has both and I got scheduled today ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I think the most surprising thing this week is that my build date wasnโ€™t bumped another month like happened last week (got scheduled for march 14 and then a week later told its April 11). So I guess Iโ€™ll take that as a win.

OK, so doesn't this all feel like some sort of scam or preferential treatment at this point? Ford knows who ordered what and when it was ordered, shouldn't these insanely long wait times take precedence over all of the other at something? Allocation system makes sense to a point, but they are actively losing customers with their inability to fulfill orders and it seems like they stick to their archaic inefficient system...
I've been wondering from the start if those with various discounts (especially A/Z plans) are getting their orders pushed back since these orders are less profitable to the dealerships. I don't think Ford charges the dealerships a different price no matter if it's a retail order or an employee/retiree discounted vehicle. But maybe Ford is doing the dealerships a favor and building non-discounted trucks before they build discounted trucks?

I know it's the least of the discounts but X plan here and ordered the first week in January and scheduled for production 2 weeks later which is slated for later this month. I don't really think there's a conspiracy, I think they're essentially playing a game of Tetris trying A) to get to the highest level (of production numbers) and B) trying to get the high score (sweet spot of production numbers and optimization of profits, ie. more profitable vehicles)

Yes, ordered through my local dealer, but didn't get the actual confirmation email from Ford until today.
