  1. The Continentals are Junk: Gotta Go. 3 flats 3,000 miles

Bought a set of Michelin Defenders 10 years ago due to high milesge claim and they wore out about 20k miles prematurely. Never will buy Michelins again. Have had great luck with Pirellis (e.g., P4, Cinturato, etc.) and high mileage am hopeful the Pirellis on my Mav will hold up. Heard oem tire...
  2. Your New Car Is Watching You And Collecting Your Data

No... but the people that use them may be (symbolically borrowed from the old adage "statistics don't lie, but sometimes those who create them do")
  3. how to jack truck to put it on jack stands.

I was discussing my mav and using a floor jack in various locations under the truck with a friend, and he pointed out safe jack locations are places capable of supporting the weight of the vehicle "towards the ground" since lifting the truck is pushing the "weight force" towards the sky (i.e...
  4. Actual mileage for an ecoboost

Yes, 25 combined mileage is pretty much the best you're going to find anywhere unless you go non-truck/suv. And yes, it's possible, but I wouldn't count on 30+ (hand calculated) on the highway at 70+mph unless you've got favorable conditions (e.g., flat roads, no significant headwinds, etc.)...
  5. Has anybody here owned an EcoBoost engine for +- 100,000 miles?

From what I've read... count on having the valves walnut shell shot for about $600 at 80,000 miles to clean off the carbon deposits, although I think I read Ford does not recommend it, and would recommend a valve job for several thousand dollars instead?
  6. Actual mileage for an ecoboost

Yeah... it's really important to choose your vehicle options wisely before buying. I'm most satisfied with my mav over any vehicle I've ever owned due to it's relative low cost of ownership (hopefully reliabilty will be good going forward!), utility and "cool/fun factor". And I've owned a...
  7. Actual mileage for an ecoboost

I'm getting 26 to 28 in mixed driving and saw a bump up of about 1.25 mpg when the mav hit about 12k miles. An engineer friend told me a while ago mpgs go up a bit at about 12k due to the rear end gears fully breaking in so I was glad to prove him right. I also drive in normal mode, but am...
  8. 2023 Maverick gets new lower MPG fuel mileage EPA ratings

That'd be a cup full of ice, if it's a cold drink! 🍻
  9. Double horn beep

Same here... turn off mav, remove keys from ignition, open door to exist, and horn beeps 2 times. Has happened 3-4 times over 9k miles.
  10. Mothercuddler! Truck is likely a write-off from being rear-ended

Rear ending someone should result in a very high fine paid directly to the rear-ended! No excuss for it. I've been rear ended no less than 5 times over 37 years of driving while stopped at traffic lights, or barely moving. No injuries or damage greater than $2,500. No repairs can remove the...
  11. Where'd all the cheap tonneaus go?

. Idk.... warranties are a great concept, but plenty of companies seem to find a way not to back them up. I guess that's why good customer reviews are helpful.
  12. What financing APR rates are you seeing?

I got a bad lunch at taco bell in 1995! Haven't been back since. And I know I'm not the only victim over the years HAHAHA!
  13. Ford Maverick XLT Ecoboost 2.0 vs. Subaru Crosstrek Sport 2.5 Back to Back Comparison (With Pictures)

Imo...You will not be disappointed with the mav's ride verses crosstrek. The mav has a 16" longer wheel base than crosstrek and also has unibody construction. I've got 9k on my mav xlt and the ride is quite nice.
  14. Ford Maverick XLT Ecoboost 2.0 vs. Subaru Crosstrek Sport 2.5 Back to Back Comparison (With Pictures)

I debated between a crosstrek premium with manual trans, and the Maverick XLT with tow, fx4, sun roof, and a couple other options for about 1 second, and I pretty much agree with your comparison. And to qualify your "tow a small boat" comment, I've got a 20 ft. Pontoon/trailer combo with 90 hp...
  15. Rear bumper cover part number

That sucks....I got rear ended a couple months ago but the hit was square on the rear bumper and my skin got a tiny blemish cause my hitch protected my mav by punching a perfectly square cut through the front bumper skin of the offending car. Based on the lack of damage to my mav, I'd be...
  16. 2.0 Ecoboost Engine: Have the old problems been solved?

I've recently read it costs around $500 for the walnut shell blasting. With the "inflation" story... might want to get a quote from Ford;).
  17. Maverick Ecoboost or Santa Cruz ? (If we don't get our Maverick Hybrid)

The cost you have to pay and the utility you need should be the deciding factors. I got a great out the door price and awesome financing rate for my mav and it does all I could wish for from towing 4k to Ave. Mpgs of 25-26 with mixed driving. I'd have to pay $10k more for a SC to tow and all...
  18. Question 2023 mobile hot spot

There are thousands and thousands of "laws" and reportedly everyone "breaks" some law or other every day. And it won't be too long before all "you" law breakers will be prosecuted using phone collected evidence! Not me of course, I have a phone app that alerts me just before I even get close to...
  19. Question 2023 mobile hot spot

That's easy...Put the phone in a drawer at home.
