Where I live there are a lot of Mavericks. So. I have follow them several times. To me they look like a SUV. The third brake light being 4.5' from the back bumper causes a depth perception problem.

Aha! You may be onto something there, does make sense. Ok, let’s just wait and see how many people shoot this theory down. 😏

Bingo! Wondering if that was alcohol, weed, other narcotics or texting, and nowadays, a combo of all 4?
Oops

Even happens to boaters when aircraft carriers get in the way.

I think Hybrids get rear ended when the driver behind fixates on how much distance there is between the Mav and the vehicle in front of it. Not sure about the EB's

I use my flashers when a line of vehicles ahead of me slows or stops suddenly. I look in the rear view mirror to verify the car coming up on me is slowing. I leave a vehicle length interval between myself and the vehicle ahead of me. Once I determine the approaching driver grasps the situation, I reduce the interval.

I also use my flashers to warn other drivers of things like shards of tire in the roadway.

But the third brake light is further away on full size trucks. I see many vehicles around me that they have smoked or altered the third brake light so it is barely visible in daylight.
The maverick bed rail caps flowing up the cab give more of a SUV look than other pickups, large or small.

So, 🤔 why would the EB be different than the Hybrid? Just asking, maybe you know something I don’t!

Too many brains just can't handle talking and seeing what's in front of them.

And these are the drivers behind you on the highway when an emergency stop or massive slow down occurs.

(insert video of truck launching over line of stopped vehicles that started with Maverick I think)

It’s a good thought. I have owned 2 teslas that you can use 1 pedal driving. The brake light coming on is incredibly late (can google this, it’s a well known complaint). If you don’t aggressively slow down- you can go from say 65mph down to 5 without any brake lights coming on. Yet I don’t think teslas have any higher rear end incidents even considering far more of them on road than Maverick ??

A known fact. Women can multitask, men cannot, period.
I watched a guy rear end a car, he was eating a bowl of cereal and,,
Wait let me stress this again. AND he was shaving !
I shit you not !

Seen another guy reading a newspaper, he ran into a parked car.
Saw a woman in front of me putting make up on using the visor mirror, she hit the guy in front of her at five miles an hour.
He let her go because she was hot.

People love excuses.
Maverick looks like a 150 farther away,
Bullsit.
I call Bull sit ….
Unless you need your cataracts removed.
Or driving while blind because your too old to know better.

I have a sign over my fireplace that says,
You can’t fix stupid.

so I mean it may sound crazy, but I think I may try to put some reflective tapes on the rear bumper and tailgate.

It will work only if the driver behind you, looks up from their phone and sees you're 🛑 stopped.

The Maverick looks so much like the F-150 that drivers approaching from behind think the have lots of room before they must stop. The Maverick is smaller, and appears the same as an F-150 that is much further away giving drivers a false sense there is more room between them and the tailgate of the Maverick.
I do not know how, but bet one could figure what a Maverick looks like at 50 yards, and compare that to an F-150 that was 100 yards away. If they look the same, there's the explanation of the high rear-end collision frequency. I say high, base only on the accidents reported on site.
Anyone have a better idea or want to poke holes in mine?
tom
Any stats to back your statement?

There is a 3M version in black that turns white when headlights hit it at night
