  1. Car & Driver recommends Maverick as a great first vehicle

At my age I thought the Maverick was a great last vehicle
  2. Miles per gallon?

It still blows my mind that when I see the gauge at a half a tank I still have at least 300 miles before I need gas!
  3. How many have needed to tow a trailer.

More people tow with their Mavericks because the beds are so much shorter than other trucks. ;)
  4. ISO_ Defroster vent gauge pod STL file

Are you asking for one or telling us you made one?
  5. Hybrid Maverick Assists Camping

I know I have seen it discussed but since the topic is hot - did you have to change a setting to keep the truck from going to sleep or was it able to power the outlets and trailer plug without any intervention?
  6. $24,950 SLATE Truck News & Info

I had enough trouble putting decals on models when I was a kid - I could see myself horking up a $500 wrap kit pretty fast!
  7. 🚙China’s new PHEV pickup 808-miles has Toyota and Ford looking over their shoulders?

Don't the Atkinson cycle engines in our hybrids get us 40+% efficiency?
  8. Learning how to drive my hybrid

I use ECO almo65st all the time, even on the Freeway. If I keep it under 65 I consistently average over 50MPG. When I come to a flat or downhill section I let off on the gas a little and it drops into battery mode. I can hold my speed steady or lose a mph or two before the ICE kicks in or the...
  9. $24,950 SLATE Truck News & Info

When that rationing happened in 79 we had three 4 bangers - a 61 Beetle, a Toyota long bed pickup, and a Honda 750. I remember waiting in line and thinking I was glad my Dad taught me to love economy cars!
  10. Ford EV Truck & Low-Price Platform -- New Specs & Details

Making the truck more efficient aerodynamic wise is great and I don't really care what they do with the front end, but it's nice to have good access to the bed from the sides front to back. I'd hate to have to jump into the bed just to push a load all the way to the cab.
  11. Front License Plate Relocation

My dealer installed mine under the back seat - it's still in the plastic bag ;)
  12. Ford EV Truck & Low-Price Platform -- New Specs & Details

God, I want to like it but it kinda looks like a Cybertruck had sex with a Santa Cruz.
  13. $24,950 SLATE Truck News & Info

If that guy had Lightning kind of money he probably should have considered bringing his service into the 21st century! We recently bought a 2027 Bolt and I was checking out my breaker box and contemplating a DIY charging setup - did some "googling" to see how much a 50 amp breaker was going to...
  14. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

@Chops, another thanks for posting the video! Chevy is mentioned a bit in the financial segment, at least their bankruptcy and bail-out, so it would have been very interesting to show what they are doing to keep from going broke. I believe they have their own skunk works type development, are...
  15. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

My charging cable is no heavier than a gasoline hose, and I've known plenty of people that have ran out of gas or were late to work because they forgot they were on empty. Also, all the hits I get for the Bolt losing money are from 2023 and earlier. The shift to LFP batteries is helping to...
  16. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

I didn't ignore your reason, just trying to understand it. Convenience is very subjective. If you take your 500 mile in a day use case you can argue that driving through on a single tank, or stopping for gas where there are no lines and jumping back in your car is faster than my 10 to 80%...
  17. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

It's been about 20 years since I have driven 500 miles in a day, but if I had to and was staying on the West Coast I would not hesitate taking the Bolt. Lots of public charging and the price is comparable with buying gas. You can tell the car what route you are taking and it will show you all...
  18. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

I"m familiar with the Maverick's range - one is sitting in my carport. What did you mean by "inferior drive train"? Are you saying all EV drive trains are inferior or just the one used in the Bolt?
  19. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

" Right now there are no EV's for the masses. Name one if there is. " We just picked up a 2027 Chevy Bolt - ~260+ miles of range, fast charging, the cheapest EV available in America, and union made in Kansas. By no means perfect and Chevy has said it will be a limited run. Also, as one of my...
  20. Door Reflectors

Well, this thread popped my bubble. I had even bragged up the Mav to my wife telling her about the awesome safety feature Ford thought of
