Agreed.
It is possible that Mary Barra, CEO of GM, is responsible for a significant portion of the negative comments on the forum. Why else would GM pay her $25 million a year?
Marry Berry has her hands full fucking up GM. She is doing a GREAT job, too. She is the very essence of The Peter Principal in action. Next stop, Stellantis.

Seems like every post people make about Maverick s someone has so much negativity to post back. Why?
I changed the oil, transfer case and rear differential. The Maverick is not a truck. The bare minimum of engineering was considered to build these. Roll under the back and check it out.

Then what is it? What do you call the thing behind the 4 doors? What is the thing that closes on the back called? If it's not a car, hatchback, suv, motorcycle, airplane or a sasquatch, then what is it?

It’s a mini truck. My ranger was a mini truck, my 83 Nissan was a mini truck, my 2004 F150 7700 GVW was a beast, I had to buy a 3 ton floor jack to lift it. The tires were ten ply and took 60 psi. Vehicles are built for a purpose. Enjoy the vehicle for what it is. Lots of other choices to be happy if you are not.

You not being impressed by it doesn't make it "not a truck."

Look I don't own one yet but I do work with some guys who consider having a full size truck a major part of their identity and sort of a religion. The one guy was going on and on with me about how I can't plow snow in this thing and I can't pull a full-size RV etc. But I told him I don't do either those things in my personal vehicle but he feels that it should have to do that just as a principal in order to call it a truck.... Now in that regard it isn't a real truck. It's more like a car with a bed but that's what I'm looking for. I want something that drives nice. I drive a GMC truck at work and it feels like an old horse and buggy compared to my car. Now do you mean the bare minimum of engineering as in quality or as an ability to do truck like stuff?

It's all what you're looking for in a vehicle. Now my wife loves the Maverick. It will meet my needs in replacing my 2005 Colorado. However, the comparison between the two is the differences between "truck " and "car". The Maverick is as intended, an inexpensive choice over the SantaCruz and the Ridgeline.

So do you consider the Maverick a truck or not? I mean by the technical definition I would say yes. For what some hardcore truck guys consider a truck I guess not. But I don't know to each the it own. The thing is since they have raised a price the Ford really isn't much cheaper than this Santa Cruz or the Ridgeline as far as I can see. I'm willing to bet the Honda would be more dependable by a long shot over time, but to me the Maverick just looks better Even at the other two seem to be more styled if that makes sense.

What immediately caught my attention was when i serviced the rear differential. Your Ranger and Nissan had regular truck axles and suspension. Iv never seen a suspension like the Maverick. Thickest steel used might be 1/8" like I said, minimal.
