This guy uses it to get a front facing camera and I'm considering it just for that feature.
Cheaper to cast to a separate phone or tablet and then you can view both front and rear cameras at same time also.

Just seems like one of those - "hey check out this gadget" and "they don't want you to watch youtube on your car screen, but I can b/c of this sweet thing I bought" - but not really necessary or solving a real problem. (but, hey that's 90% of 'mods', so go for it!)

AA works fine for me. Only thing I would like is to be able to run Torque on it. Be nice to be able to display the various gauges that are available.

It should only be able to work while the vehicle is in park.

I’ve not tried that one but I have a CarLink 3.0 Kit installed in my current vehicle to change wired to wireless CarPlay and it works 99% of the time with the auto start up. it’s really a game changer and now it seems they have several different options to choose from.

CarlinKit 5.0 Adapter - Wired to Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter,Online Update,2-Channel Connection, Plug & Plug, 10s Auto-Connect for Cars with OEM Wired CarPlay & Android Auto from 2015 https://a.co/d/1udBIV1

This is great for truck drivers that have long waits at ports, docks, etc.

I have been thinking about getting a wireless android auto adapter with built in gps and it's own andoid operating system. I don't really care about
entertainment apps . I have seen a few dongles on
Amazon that have these capabilties . I don't own a smart phone and have been using a Mio digiwalker navigation system for the last 20 years or so, it still does the job but I am looking at other options.

I got curious one night and decided to count the number of people I could actually see actively on their phone while driving down the interstate one day.

This device will kill people.
People kill themselves. Tools only enable it to be done more easily.

I bought a Carlinkit Tbox Plus, which is an AI box and a wireless Android/Apple bracket. Some people worry that installing an entertainment box in the car could affect driving safety. However, in reality, phones have the same functionality; it's just that the in-car screen is larger. Harm comes from the user, not the tool itself.

Has anyone installed this in the maverick without any issues? I can't get it to connect to my phones hotspot but connects to my home network just fine. Im connecting with the hot spots name and password but it was unable to get IP address.

Motorcyclists such as myself are not fond of such technology. Watch the road, damn it!
Trailmaster, believeit or not, I ran across a video on You Tube where a guy did this mod to his Harley Ultra's infotainment center. 😳

He did preface it with he'd only watch video's on it when he was stopped.

I thought to myself, you know, when I've already ridden a long ways on the bike, sitting longer on it to watch a video is not going to be high on my to do list. :ROFLMAO:

This device will kill people.
I spend most of the time driving blowing my horn at:
  • Cars in front of me randomly breaking.
  • Cars in front of me weaving from side to side inside their lane hitting both lines, sometimes the curb.
  • Cars in front of me going 20-25 in a 45.
  • Cars beside me coming over into my lane.
In all cases these people are on their phones at best playing with maps, or texting at worst on a video call, watching a movie or reading a book (on their iPad yes it happened).

These types of devices a crazy and while everyone says they won't use it while driving they will, just like shaving or putting on makeup.
