Mine works fine, no leaks. Haven’t used power washers on it so I can’t speak to leaking in car washes. But there has been some hellacious rain here last week. Still dry.

Just throwing this out there if someone's tonneau is leaking. My Tri-Fold Gator came with a very good seal with a strong adhesive side. (auto parts and Lowes also carry it) From the instructions from Gator Tri-Fold it suggested attaching the seal on the "BOTTOM" of the tonneaus edge where it meets the top of the bed edge., the weight of the tonneau should keep the rubber seal tight against the bed rail. Rubber seal around the tailgate (same rubber seal and adhesive edge) goes on the outside edge of the of tailgate opening 'cause if you haul dirt, gravel, etc the rubber seal will have less chance of getting damaged if it is attached to the left and right edges of the tailgate, and not the tailgate bottom. The tailgate bottom edge is supposed to let water and debris drain out, not seal water in. Have carpet on top of my SIBL bed floor and after two years have never had a drop of water get past the Gator Tri-Fold seal on to my bed's carpeted floor. Works for me!

Remembered the way to do most weatherstripping. Place it on the moveable part!

Just now seeing this thread, but had the same idea.

After trying out the mount-seal-to-tailgate method, I didn't like how much it was rubbing to get inside the body line, so opted to seal the truck-side instead.

A few notes:
  • Some interference with the tailgate strut and tie-downs. Seems okay, but was going to add the simple triangle tiedowns on both sides anyway.
  • Had some cutting from the tailgate plastic lip, so stopped the seal at the top and continued with a short tail-gate mounted piece for the top/horizontal run.
  • Kit from amazon had enough length to also do the interior seal, left right and bottom

Does anyone have a link to the Lowe's seal mentioned? Thank you!

This Amazon weather stripping looks like the one from my Gator tonneau cover. I have also seen it at Autozone. Traveling over 100's of miles of dirt roads I have added this weather stripping to the perimeter of my tailgate to keep dust out.

Thanks! I went ahead and ordered it. I think I found the Lowe's weatherstrip too, but it doesn't look nearly as good and has complaints of adhesion issues.
