I have run a rubber band from my hand to the wheel and rest my hand on the armrest on interstates.
If the truck steers, I feel it through the rubber band. But I still get to relax my arms.
I have been doing my own oil changes, maintenance, and tire rotation for 20 years. Even internal transmission repair. I don't trust others to do as good of a job as I do.
I keep up with oil changes and records, but I had literally been doing the work of 2.5 people plus newlywed plus elderly...
No, I didn't do a traditional X and move front tires to the rear like the manual says.
I literally did an X swap.

RR to FL
FR to RL
RL to FR
It seems to be working. Go figure.
I went 26,000 miles on my Michelins before the first rotation. Now at 31,000 miles and all is well.

I have gone 25,000 miles without my first tire rotation. Yes, my life is THAT busy. Yes, I know that’s horrible. Yes, every 5k or even 10k is best.
BUT… you can learn from what I did.

What is tow modes priority with the 2.5L hybrid?
Is it trying to keep the electric motors or transmission cool by running the ICE all the time for fluid circulation?
Or is it just about performance by having the ICE ready to go and keeping the battery topped off for available power?
Or just...
Mine has always done this every time the ICE fires up or shuts down while moving.
Only lasts about 1 second, but sounds like a dry bearing squealing.
It's probably some electrical component vibrating during high loading.
16000 miles on my hybrid.
Update.
In July I did a round trip from Navarr to Pensacola via the reserve. Completely flat with lots of curves. About 30 miles each way, but carrying About 400 more lbs.
Similar Temps.
53mpg one way, 56 mpg the other, but my cruise was set on 35mph.
So 40mph really is a sweet spot for...
I should have kicked cruise off and coasted to a stop to get over 70mpg, but I was tired of driving 40mph and my turn was close.
98F when I started. 94F at picture. 72F inside with AC and radio blasting. 200lb me and 100lb of tool. Hard bed cover. Only 4 cars passed me on this desolate road.
My last 3 tanks have been 38 to 40mpg. About a third each of city, highway, and interstate.
Display reads 1.8mpg optimistic each time using the same gas station.
Got 50 mpg over 50 miles while hypermiling on a 2 lane road 50 to 60 mph ish. Got 44 mpg with the cruise set on 60mph over 170...
