And in this picture, the driver's side cable appears to be slack......but the tailgate and bed appear level. Thanks for the pic.

I've reported it to my local dealer and Ford Tech came back saying that it is within specs.
If you look at the dimensions, which I measured, seems like the tailgate hinge dimensions to the top of the bed are not the same. Notice the slack on the left side cable. There is also an issue with the tailgate not being level with the bed.

If I told my clients that a 5/16" difference is within spec on a door margin, I would be a hungry man!

Yeah my question earlier here was about if we have any pictures of Mavericks with coplanar beds, and if so then we could accept the "within spec" argument, that some are just out of spec. If none of them are coplanar, then that wouldn't be a spec issue... someone ducked up the design in that case, eh?

Sorry if this was covered previously -- did you measure the cables themselves, are they identical?

From Gate King:

"At this time we still do not currently have a GATE KING® set available for the new Ford Maverick. Please note we are already preparing to go into production for this Model beginning January 2022.

However, although production is starting to roll out, we expect it will take a bit longer due to the pandemic situation"
I got excited after learning about this product right here in this thread. I was planning to buy them when the finally come out, however, this soft answer they provide regarding the weight rating has me second guessing the decision:

Seems to me this would be a pretty simple test to perform. Do it it 3-possitions for good measure. Call it "unofficial data", but provide it anyway.

Wtf? Another quality control problem. This is so visual. Apparently these trucks are being pushed out so fast no one is paying attention. So much for a state of the art factory and highly skilled workers. I guess that all goes out the window. This really is inexcusable. What other quality issues are there we can't see? Reminding me more and more of the Pinto.

You don't need a level to see the "saggy" tailgate.

Holy ****, that isn't even close to being level. Was Quality Control drunk or blind the day this one was checked? Both?
