Not sure why Amazon did that. The McGards are a bit longer, not much.Question: Why does Amazon say these "McGard 64073" Lug Nuts will not fit a MY2022 Maverick?
Is it because they are a little longer like you mention?
Can you post a picture with them installed on your Maverick.
Shiny chrome lug nuts are more visible if you drop one on a dark rainy night by the side of the road. And chrome looks great. Black lug nuts are fine, they look good on the wheel at least.
Here are 2 McGard 64073's (3 are OE lug nuts) on a Mav XLT wheel, to compare the look:
Some full set or subset of the below parts works OK.. ... All this fits behind the back seat (near Ford's tire kit), and/or under the back seat in those cool bins:
Mixpower 1/2-Inch Drive 22mm Non-Marring Impact Deep Lug Nut Socket
McGard 64073 chrome lug nuts
Gorilla Automotive 61641N Chrome Acorn Gorilla Guard II Wheel Locks
Pittsburgh Pro 1/2 in. Drive 25 in. Breaker Bar
3 lightweight plastic wheel chocks
Small tube of rubber cement to coat the tire hole repair rope or screw.
Small Slime electric tire pump or similar
Fix-A-Flat Aerosol Emergency Flat Tire Repair and Inflator or similar
Tire pressure gauge
If the above Amazon links fail, just google terms like "Tire Repair Rubber Nail screw" for a light, compact, EZ to carry plug solution.
Also "Slime T Handle Tire Plug Kit" for the rope/string plug kit
Note: You need a 22mm (or 7/8") socket or lug wrench if you go with McGard 64073, bigger than the OE 21 mm (or 13/16").
You can strap a breaker bar (nice to have; the leverage makes things easy) to Ford's kit already behind the back seat:
