OKThe BMS "reset" tells the system "This is what a fully charged battery looks like."
So make sure it IS 100% topped off before doing the reset procedure.
"Resetting" with a 60% battery will keep it 60% more or less forever, or until the next "reset".
That is almost always the case, regardless of battery size or chemistry. Batteries, whether automotive, or in a mobile phone or laptop, don’t sit around fully-charged waiting for people to buy them. In this case it is critical to start fully charged when you do the BMS reset.I guess a brand new battery needs to be charged before installation???
I wish I knew exactly how many new batteries I've purchased over the decades for my cars, trucks, boats, and motorcycles...That is almost always the case, regardless of battery size or chemistry. Yes, doesn't look like it's for AGM.Seems to have a full charge???
But then again, this is my first modern AGM battery...
I'm wondering if there's some other way to test the charge???
I remember the day I bought my old trusty Century charger/starter back in 1995-
It was pretty high tech 30 years ago, AND made in the USA...
Still works great, but not for AGM batteries, as I understand it???

Just make sure you have a charger compatible with AGM batteries.OK
I guess a brand new battery needs to be charged before installation???
Well, my battery charger is old, like me...
So I guess I'll buy a new trickle charger, so I can charge my brand new battery???
Or maybe I'll re-install my "crappy" Ford battery, that worked just fine???

Wow, what a PITA-Ecoboost here and at 2.5 years of ownership am now on my 3rd battery- First one died due to a loose lug next- 2nd AGM went bad after 3 whole months- 3rd battery now will not turn interior lights on when unlocking if not driven for 3-4 days- Next battery will not be a Ford/Motorcraft unit -
