Dang, a terrible thing to see happen to your Mav!

The good news is that you have a perfect recording to provide to the insurance companies, can't argue that evidence.

If it is a DUI, here I think it means they have no vehicle insurance. So we carry the top level and make sure we have uninsured driver coverage...I hope this is all covered for you, so you dont have to sue to try and get your truck replaced.

Also great to see you weren't in it!

I hope you get it all worked out in your favour with as little drama as possible, and dont have to wait too long for your new Maverick to arrive (if that is what this eventually comes to).

At least in my state, Oklahoma, uninsured motorist insurance doesn't cover your vehicle, it covers personal injury. Which in this case there wouldn't be any.

Whew boy. If that woke me up and I saw my Mav crunched by a drunk in front of my house my Ecobee cameras would have caught the accident, and then me beating some drunk ass all across my front yard.

EDIT: And yes, driving drunk deserves an ass kicking. I've been hit by two drunk drivers, wife seriously injured in one accident.

Witnessed a third accident outside my old apartment where one driver was wasted, drinking in a gym parking lot across the street, and legit just rolled out into a 4 lane road and blasted two cars. Beer cans and beer all over his car from the accident.

He tried to stumble away from the accident and I loaded up and slapped the shit out of him harder than I've ever hit someone with an open hand in my life. He went twirling to the pavement where he got a few kicks to the mid section until he threw up on himself. Then I dragged his ass over to the curb and laid him down until the cops came.

Uninsured and unlicensed vehicles/drivers need to have MUCH higher penalties. Several years ago in CA, there was a survey finding that about 40% of the vehicles driving on the road were NOT insured. I know some States have a sticker like plate registration stating that you're insurance is current. That would be a good thing everywhere; assuming police have enough time to pull over people with expired insurance tags...

Same rules applies here in Manitoba.

I did dig further though, to see where uninsured motorist coverage is, well, mandatory coverage in Canada....except in Alberta...as once started, I like to know the right answer!

That's pretty common in a lot of states; you're just expected to have Collision coverage to encompass UMPD.
