I have also noticed, here anyways, that many people will start turning left and slow almost to a stop in the middle of the road. I don't know why it is so hard for them to turn left at 15 to 20 mph.

Yeah, I can't believe how often I see people hit the brakes as they're making a left turn from an arrow. WTF? You just moved from being stopped. You're not going to spin out of control.

Yes we have full coverage + uninsured, which he was.

Uninsured only covers your medical expensives, does not cover fixing your truck. Since no one was in your truck when it got hit, it doesn't matter. Also call your insurance company and ask them to drop the uninsured coverage if you have medical coverage somewhere else. (medicare, or are covered where you work, etc>) you will save $100 or more.

Bad advice. Also, property damage is a part of uninsured/underinsured coverage in some states. I don't know if Washington State has it, but in Georgia, it covers vehicle damage up to the limit of your property damage coverage.

Their (the offending vehicle driver's) horn might be broken...so, watch for finger....I think that means that this was their first time?

Some times it can turn into a real donnybrook, if sensitive feelings are startled...and lots of people are sensitive when they are made aware that they are making a mistake...

So……..I’m not sure what to say

Same thing happened to my 2003 Escape several years ago. Parked it in the street at my friend's house, and had just cracked open a beer in the basement when we heard "CRASH - Horn-horn-horn-horn" - here, some young mother had turned a corner on a side street and ran head on into my Escape, smashing both it and her really mint 70-something Chevy truck.

She pleaded that we not call the cops because her license was "questionable" but she had a young kid in the car and his head had hit the windshield, with a small amount of blood. I called them immediately.

It's a wonder I didn't go into full "WTF are you doing" anger mode at the time.

Uninsured and unlicensed vehicles/drivers need to have MUCH higher penalties. Several years ago in CA, there was a survey finding that about 40% of the vehicles driving on the road were NOT insured. I know some States have a sticker like plate registration stating that you're insurance is current. That would be a good thing everywhere; assuming police have enough time to pull over people with expired insurance tags...

Debtor's prison comes to mind. Making license plates at 10 cents a piece until the debt is paid off. Might take 50 years.

The only thing worst than a dirunk cop is a dishonest cop. Combine the two and we all suffer.

You'd think that the drunk cop could at least call his friends on the force for a ride home. Seems like someone that has most likely worked a few drunk driver crashes would know better. I'd rather have the embarrassment of being dropped off at home by a black-and-white than have forever ruined someone else's life because I was too proud to ask for a lift.
