What would be signs of having CV problems? I recently was noticing 'bumps' while driving like I had a bad tire, small but noticeable. I had the tires checked and rotated at 5k miles but still have the issue.
If this is the issue and had to have them replaced would they put in the same Axles or would they be updated ones?
Thanks for any help in advance.

lots of previous post on the subject would give you some good incite. no idea but i would think the older versions stock level should be low or not available since a revised version is in production. I understand the part #'s are different so I would think the dealer or whoever supplies the part would know which version is being used/ordered.

In my case I felt a vibration at 20-30mph upon normal acceleration. It wasn’t until I had them replaced that I realized I was having an issue at higher speeds as well. So smooth now.

I didn’t mess around with part numbers, questionable upgrades, etc., I simply demanded and up paid for Tremor CV’s. Done.

The front end shaking on acceleration. Just got mine back from the dealership for that...

CV joints will give you a knocking when you're driving and the wheel is turned to either side. In extreme cases when you're going straight.

For a CV axle problem to manifest itself as early as 5000 miles would be unusual, especially for an EcoBoost. Symptoms often include: Clicking at low speeds (like parking lots) while turning hard, steering wheel vibration/shake, knocking/vibrating during acceleration or certain speeds and eventually getting so bad you're afraid to drive it. Remove your under shield and inspect your CV joints for boot failure/grease loss. CV failure early on will not usually be symptomatic just cruising down the road. I would check other things like the tires at this point. Does sound like a broken (tire) belt, have a tire pro (dealer?) look at it.
Edit: as you already had the tires checked/rotated, I might revisit that inspection and get a second opinion depending on who did it. You have no feel for which corner seems to be bumping? If it is tire related, should have changed with the rotation.

Great feedback, thank you. No isolation on Tire feel. It feels as if the road has bumps in it and feel it in the floor board. This happens all the time when going from 20 to 40 mph.

That’s precisely the symptoms I had. However it was at 30k miles and I have a 1” levelling kit which some believe exasperates the problem.

Waterick is correct, it’s very uncommon for CV’s to fail at 5k.

Just a quick search revealed the attached thread, maybe time to see the dealer. I know your is not a noise but, a feel. Still, they should be able to detect it and hopefully help.
2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid... From day 1 when I took delivery of it new a little over a year ago, There has been a faint muted clunking or rattle coming from the front passenger side of my truck.

It is only really heard when going at relatively slow speeds, mainly speeds below 25 mph, and when driving over roads that are a little rough or bumpy... like for example as you cross a intersection where the pavement isn't smooth or there is slightly raised pavement from frost heaves, or in parking decks etc... You won't really hear anything going over speed bumps or going over minor potholes, and if the roads are very smooth you won't hear it at all, and like I said... if your up to speed like 35+ mph you almost never hear it ( could just be that wind and tire and engine noise masks the sound? )

Truck has a little over 16K on it.

This is my second maverick, the first one was a 23 XLT hybrid and it did not make this noise.

I took the truck to the dealer the other day, they kept it 2 days and told me they could not replicate the noise. But I went up there yesterday afternoon and took the service advisor for a short drive and was able to find some patches of pavement rough enough ( like I said it has to be rough pavement but not too rough ) that made the noises and the service advisor absolutely heard them and agreed that if it was his truck he would want it fixed.

Trying to describe the noise I would say if anyone is familiar with the sound a hitch makes when you tug on it up and down, how there is a little bit of play between the hitch and the receiver... It is a similar noise but more muted, not as loud and not as metallic sounding. And its for sure coming only from the passenger side of the truck and sound comes from the front.

Just curious if anyone else had the same thing and had it fixed and what it was... so I can give the dealership some places to look.

If I was to make guess it might be a internal problem with the strut....

Brian_J, as I recall the total up charge was between $300-$400. The left and right were differently priced (about $75 difference). Keep in mind this is CAD$ which is disgustingly overpriced.
