Thanks for the information on backorder time. I really can't drive it the way it is anymore & I'm not sure I can wait a month or more. I'm weighing my options. I can tell you one thing. Ford is ZERO help with any of this.

I recently started noticing the dreaded WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP when accelerating at 55mph-

Several have posted about Ford having upgraded the axle assemblies, but I've not seen any sources to back it up???

I'll be calling around to feel out area Ford service managers tomorrow...

I figure anyone who’s just getting a Maverick order some axles now. To have on standby.

My truck was in the shop for almost a month waiting on the CV axles. The main reason for the backorder was because of the re-design. I was probably one of the first trucks that got the new version. From what others have posted, the wait is down to about a week now. It is still covered under warranty to tell them to check it. Print stuff off here if you have to and bring it with you. I did that, but luckily the dealer knew right away it was the CVs.

I wonder if redesign is same as the 25s. If it's identical part id be willing to bet that if you ever get the transmission replaced under warranty you might get the hf55 or whatever it's called.

Is it really a redesign? Check the part numbers on the axle itself. They could have just said yes and give you the same ones that go bad. I wouldn’t put it past any of the dealers shops to do that.

If it is a redesign, would not the dealer have to tell you? And would not Ford let the dealerships know that the axels are not the same as the original? And would it say on a customers invoice that it is a warranty repair with some type of notes regarding upgraded axels?

I posted the invoice on one of the other threads about this topic with the new part numbers on it.

Ford Maverick CV joints failing & parts on indefinite backorder?!?!? 1735136640928-o

Out of the three "Front Axle" entries, I ASSume the bottom two entries
(starting with "S" and ending with "E" and "C") are what the new replacements are.
