I stand corrected.
My brother-in-law is a a small contractor who owns three F-250’s and his personal F-150. He claims the 250’s are sieves.
Are you listening Ford?
I don’t care about elevation and UV rays.
I do believe if a vehicle is designed, built and sold in North America it better survive longer than three years in every region of North America!
Ouch! Sorry about that TonyJoe.
I’ve spent 20+ years in the automotive plastic and rubber industry.
If it’s dry and crumbly it means the rubber used was not manufactured with the appropriate amount of plasticizer oil (DPHP), and/or UV inhibitor. That’s a Ford quality control issue and in a...
The one I use is called ACCUTIRE, nothing special about it, I’m sure many different manufacturers make accurate gauges similar to this. They typically measure to a tenth (eg. 35.5 psi). They aren’t that expensive but require a battery. Mine is 8 years old and on it’s third battery. Cheap...
That looks like a handy tool. I use a digital caliper to measure depth which can be a PITA due to its length and the wheel wells. Regardless, my 245/65 A/T’s were wearing in the middle at 35psi. At 32psi they are now even. I’m going to go to 33psi and monitor. Suspect 33-34psi will be the ticket...
Thank you for the info Glen, always wondered about the sloppy feel of my torx fasteners on the Maverick.
l’m old enough to predate metric. I have a tool chest filled with imperial tools. Another filled with metric and every Dodge /Chrysler speciality tool I’ve ever needed. My torx + bits are...
I set mine to 35psi in the spring. They fluctuate between 40 and 30 psi depending on ambient temperature. I find it perfect. 40 in summer heat (highway/ashphalt) and 30 in winter (snow/ice).
I suggest you find your sweet spot and forget about it.
Toyo 245/65-17 Open Country tires.
Nothing to worry about.
I’ve had snow and ice from tonneau to roof on many occasions without issue. Not safe from a driving perspective but it never caused a problem regarding the vehicle.
I’m a Canuck. Will not buy anything unless it’s built in Mexico/USA/Canada as per the CUSMA deal. If that deal goes sour, I’ll buy whatever gets me to work in the morning.
I’m not sure if heated seats activate without weight being sensed. I know they heat up fast once I’m seated. I drive my wife to her work every morning on my way to my job. She used to bemoan the fact that our Dodge seats only started to feel warm when we arrived at her work. She says the Ford...
My previous vehicle was not a turbo, it was a Hemi Charger. I changed the rear end to a lower geared LSD differential and then got a performance tune to optimize shift points as well as high octane fuel. After many data logging sessions the tuner sent me a tune which I was very happy with.
I...
As already mentioned somewhere on this thread, just set climate control to where you want it on start up.
When I pull into my driveway after work in the evening I set to full defrost and both seat warmers on. It starts in this mode. Easy peasey.
My wife calls the Maverick the cosey mobile.
I’m also an ex RX7 owner and the “Italian Tune Up” was a necessity to keep rotors clean. Unfortunately it led to my converter getting clogged. They cost a fortune so I deleted it and the engine wouldn’t idle anymore. A Mazda tech told me that back pressure was critical to a rotary motor. Got...
Me too. 22 EB is still doing everything I hoped it would, and a little more. Hoping it’s my second last truck (I’m getting old). I would like my next/last truck to be a 2032 Maverick, if they still make them.
Totally agree with Cherokee.
I bought my truck slightly used. The original owner installed clincher rims and Toyo Wild Country A/T tires. Love this setup.
It’s time for replacement and I’m going with the same. The tires are a bit pricey but I no longer require two sets of rims and eight season...
Just wondering if any of these companies remove and reinstall all of the under side felt guards on the Maverick.
Having removed them myself for minor maintenance and fluid changes I’ve noticed this is the worst areas for corrosion.
I always spray what I can with Fluid Film when I’m under there...
