Ford Maverick Road Noise is horrible in the Maverick 2.0 7B1CF893-0A96-4932-81C3-F79637CC8FD2

Biggest difference is the fact that I didn't have to blow the horn..

Apologies for laziness, did you post the Mav decibel numbers in here?

Yessir... I also edited my other post, to have the numbers for both vehicles in the same post.

That post can be found HERE

Well, that horn blowing also "blew" the average!

Does the 47 from the Mav & the 74 for the PS represent the same condition?

How did they compare cruising along at 55-60? Similar weather conditions?

Interesting to note those volumes EMD_Driver recorded did show that the average volume in the cabin of the F350 and the Maverick are the same. Peaks were higher in the Maverick, which is a given considering the lack of sound deadening in the truck. As long as it's not in the 94DB range for extended periods of time that shouldn't be an issue. It will be interesting to do sound tests in the Hybrid Maverick to see if it is better. From a hearing perspective an average over 70DB ambient cabin noise isn't great for longer trips (3+ hours of driving).

In any case you'd need to use a far more accurate device to get real sound levels in the truck than an iPhone to great any meaningful data. Does give you some idea of where the levels are though. A few reviewers, who did bring proper sound meters, didn't seem to show cabin noise that high. I cannot recall if those numbers were in the hybrid or the EB though.

I’m completely happy with mine also except,,,,, the XL does not have cruise control! I ordered a XLT in July. On October 30 they still did not have a build date. I had the chance to get the XL so I did. I plan on adding cruise control by the time it needs its first oil change.
Does anyone need a full set of factory steel wheels?
Just a suggestion………
Unless you’ve already canceled the XLT, which the dealer will sell at a big markup………
Don’t do anything until the XLT shows up. I’ll bet that the dealer will give you AT LEAST what you paid for the XL in trade.
It will allow you to keep your options open.
Maybe even buy both, sell one for a nice profit.

lol....gotta love these subjective arguments!

Can't wait to get mine so I can decide for myself. 🤠
I will save you some trouble , it is fine on my 2,0 xl the front hood deflector halps cut down any high way spped noise and at lower speed the radio covers any noises. I drove sport mode for a few days and found eco to be the quietest he does not shift down much and the turbo torque pulls the truck good in higher gears without winding the engine

If you ever drove a really quiet vehicle for a period of time, the Maverick will be noisy.

If you have driven mostly low priced vehicles , then the Maverick's noise levels will be fine.

Nice flex re the tesla. Are you seriously comparing a high end luxury electric to a cheap pickup truck?

There basically isn't much noise dampening in the mav. If you watch vids of people taking off door panels there is none. None under the hood either. That's what you get for a sub $20k vehicle. Amazon carries self adhesive sound dampening sheets if it's important. I am thinking about doing that if it feels too noisy but other people's reviews say it's fine. Will have to wait and see.
Maybe yours is a sub $20k, but mine certainly is not. Now I'm anxious about this noise issue...

Look at the "average" values on the left side -- it looks like they are exactly the same for both vehicles in their testing at 76.7. The middle value of 47 and 74 are the 'current' db level I'm guessing.

Here's my real world data... 25 mile drive, max of 60MPH, typical crappy SC roads and the loudest it got was when some idiot required the use of my horn, to remind him that he's an idiot...

I used the decibel X app on my iphone 12 Pro Max. Phone was positioned on the passenger seat, with the mic facing the dash.

I think most people are being too delicate. Engine noise doesn't bother me at all. Road noise is not bad at all. 2.0 AWD, FX4. I did install a sub station with a 10 in DB drive sub that comes with the amp. 900 watts of sweet sound!
