A larger rear view mirror is needed, the factory one is horrible ....

Get a broadway mirror. I’ve had one on all my cars since I can remember (including my XL maverick). Doesn’t look goofy to me. It looks rather clean and unobtrusive. Visibility is superior to any OEM design I’ve experienced.

I removed the rear headrests and it opens up rear vision quite a bit
But I didn’t have a problem seeing, but it now lets me see more

I'm guessing that that the headrests fit in the storage compartment under the rear seat?

They do, but I left them at home because they would probably rattle in there

I have finally had it with the rear view mirror in my XL. No matter what position I'm sitting in it seems to be off and in the wrong spot when I look in the mirror. Its too small. I know one of the other Ford models must have a larger mirror that uses the same mounting system. I DO NOT WANT one of those goofy mirrors that clip over the factory one. Before I spend a lot of time looking/researching on eBay I figured I would ask you guys. I don't want something fancy or complicated, just bigger like from a larger Ford truck or something.

For my past 3 cars, I have used this 3 wide mirror. It is huge and curved on the ends so I can see out the side windows and the whole back seat. It is going straight from my current ride into my maverick. This mirror just latches onto your current mirror. I got it on ebay. I will definitely be putting the rear headrest under or behind the back seat and using my Superwide concave mirror!
