I’ve tried it with FordPass app a couple of times, hasn’t worked yet, was just trying, so haven’t researched why nogo.

Heated seats and steering wheel in the winter, AC blowing in the summer, okay I'll buy that. First time I used it I thought the gas engine would start and warm up.
I'm on the right page now
It is a bit silly the hybrid does not start the gas engine to warm it up in the winter. The cab heater does not use engine heat via hoses so no advantage there.

Unless I'm missing something.
I use mine to defrost the windows on cold mornings. I’m guess if I parked in a garage I might not need it.

With A/C, the ICE (InternalCombustionEngine) will eventually start to charge the battery, once the electric A/C has used a certain amount of battery charge.

In winter, the ICE will usually start immediately upon remote start, if you have the Heater set to max temp/fan before last driving the truck.
Very Good Ozarkbeard. I haven't had this truck long enough to now this. I suppose I could have read it in the manual. Thanks to you all!

Sounds like you answered your own question. Sometimes just writing it down (and posting it) brings clarity.

The owners manual says the system tries to get the cab to 72 deg, heat or cool.
The best thing ever on these hot summer days, leave work in the heat, get into the cool cab for the ride home.

REMOTE START SETTINGS

Switching Climate Control Auto Mode On and Off
  1. Using the instrument cluster display controls on the steering wheel, select Settings.
  1. Select Vehicle.
  1. Select Remote Start.
  1. Select Climate Control.
  1. Select Auto or Last settings.
Note: If you switch the auto mode on, the system attempts to heat or cool the interior to 72 °F (22 °C). When you switch the vehicle on, the climate control system returns to the last used settings.
Note: If you switch the last settings on, the system remembers the last used settings.

I’m in Southern Arizona. I hate it when I forget to use my remote start. It doesn’t blow full cold like when the engine is running, but it most certainly cools (and even warms) the cabin when I remember to use it.

I love it. It's one of my favorite surprise features. I didn't know it had remote start. I love that I can schedule it to start at 5:20am every weekday and just walk out to a warm truck. Or start it up when inside a store on a hot day to come out to a frosty temp.

I'll start mine when it's really cold and the windows need clearing of snow and/or ice-frost. Having the cabin nice and warm, with toasty seats when you finish and climb in is nice. Never had remote start on any other vehicle, but have used it half a dozen times last winter.

Bonus for '22 & '23 owners, the wiper park area also gets heated if you have the Lux package, so the wipers work better when you drive off. (I seem to recall that feature is gone for '24, along with the door keypad).

I have an XLT hybrid, and I've used the remote start on several occasions.

Living in Tucson I find the remote start (Ford Pass) the best thing since sliced bread.

In the winter starting it even less than 5 minutes before I leave makes it so I don't wear a jacket all winter. The only reason to wear one was to get in a cold car in the morning.

In the summer even less than a 5 minute start means getting into an oasis of refreshing cold instead of a 200 degree oven.

I'm really spoiled now.

I can understand your initial misunderstanding. For an engine that doesn't turn on for the first part of the trip, it doesn't make sense to remote start it. But as you saw, it is more climate control related. If not for that, no one would really use it.
