I just set it to auto mode, and it usually runs the defrost function until I cycle the key forward. The reason I have always loved Fords is because after a couple of minutes warming up in our Wisconsin cold air, they produce heat. I had a Volkswagen that could idle for an hour and drive for 20 minutes before the engine was up to temp.

The HVAC, seat warmers and steering wheel heater all work during remote start, the lights don't light up until you press start once inside. End thread.
What is it set to in the vehicle itself? On the IC display Menu > Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > Duration can be set to 5, 10, or 15 minutes.
Both of these things. Interestingly idle time while remote started is also not factored into Trip MPG, because the trip computer (like the HVAC controls) is not "awake" during a remote start event.

To add to this, there’s a remote start setting in the dash menu to select the temperature. Mine is currently set to something along the lines of auto sense. When it’s hot out, it turns on the AC and then heat when it’s cold.
I have a 2024 XLT hybrid with the lux pkg and I haven't seen a remote start setting in the dash menu...maybe an EB option. Mine runs for 15 minutes but I haven't tried to extend it...may do that tomorrow.
