Remote start and hybrid

I was wondering with the remote start on the hybrid. Does the motor start to warm the car or is electric heating/cooling

It will start the engine for heat. The AC compressor is electric, but that would likely deplete the battery quickly. Expect a gas engine start.

COOLING

For AC cooling the climate control must be ON and the AC ON and the unit in Auto Mode with the desired temperature selected when you shut off the truck and leave. When you remote start it will use the last settings.

On the Hybrid the AC is all electric and powered by the High Voltage Battery. So when you "remote start on the hybrid" via the FordPass App or the key fob if equipped the AC will start if the inside temperature is above the setting. The AC will run on only the HV Battery but at some point if the HV battery gets low on charge the engine will run to recharge the HV battery and when the charge is high enough the engine will shut off.

HEATING

For heating the climate control must be ON and the AC OFF and the unit in Auto Mode with the desired temperature selected when you shut off the truck and leave. When you remote start it will use the last settings.

On the Hybrid the heating is only by the engine so the engine will start if the inside temperature is below the temperature setting. The engine will also start if the HV battery needs to be charged. I believe the engine will shut off when the desired inside temperature is obtained and the HV battery has been recharged.

Anyone know of an aftermarket remote start that will work with the original key fob for the 2025 MAVERICK XLT 2.5L HYBRID?
Had a 2024 straight up gas 2.0, Start-X worked fine, but the hybrid has a totally different OBD 2
