Happened a couple times to me. Give the pull loop a few good tugs. That should reset the latch. Then push the seat back with some stank on it.

I had to look that up:

put some stank on it

(phrase), (sl) - Phrase meaning to add a personal flare, or special ability to any given task or action. As in throwing an especially fast fast-ball, or making a difficult billiards shot. This can be applied to almost anything where talent is a factor in achieving the desired result.

I've never seen such a shot pulled off under those conditions! He really put some stank on it that time!

Had this issue on the one I test drove at the dealer and now mine has it as well.

How goddamn hard could it possibly be to design a latch that works? Just laughable.

Is everyone pushing on the passenger side as recommended by the owners manual as shown here?

A firm push on the passenger side, and my rattling seat is fixed!

Shouldn't have to beat the crap out of it to get it to lock.

Locate the latch behind the seat. Fold the seat up and with the palm of your hand give it a firm press and it should latch. It did for me.

It's official: When (if) I ever get this truck, I'm never folding the seat

Pushing hard on the passenger side as the OM states, may work. Slamming hard on that side always works. Slam even harder when there's a car seat using the rear tether.

I can verify on my truck, you have to slam the seat back much harder than you would think necessary.

I took the torx (#40) bolts out and put 2 washers per bolt in there, about 1/4 inch of shim and it closes flawlessly. No need for a trip to the dealer
Maybe a little vienerschlider would help for you German customers!

With everyone having the same issue it seems FoMoCo might take notice🤞🏻 I thought the backing was interfering with latching and finally took it to the dealer.

I thought I was having an issue with this too; the seat simply would not latch. Took it to the dealer, went to the opposite side of the vehicle, tried to show him how it did not latch....and the sucker latched! Talk about looking stupid.

It may be that the seat is not seating itself evenly when you push the seat back in place.

My sons car seat is on the passenger side and I had a heck of a time getting the seat to latch after attaching the tether. Good old brute force eventually worked.
