Rear seat will not latch back

With everyone having the same issue it seems FoMoCo might take notice I thought the backing was interfering with latching and finally took it to the dealer.

Not everyone. Mine has latched perfectly every time since I got it.

Saw the same issue on a Lariat model at the dealer.

So doesn’t matter if you bought the $20K XL or the near $40K Lariat the problem is poor design

Had the same issue. I added the 2 washers and now it works perfectly fine. No extra stank required.

Did you add them to space the fixed metal bar portion further out toward the seat/ latch?
I just got my ‘23, had the same issue. Eventually walked around to passenger side and had to slam it hard, got it to latch that way but not ideal.

There is a pocket on the back of the seat that has a foam pad stuffed in it. I trimmed the foam down a little bit and haven't had a issue since.

It's probably designed to be a tight fit. No need for the seat to be rattling as your driving down the road.

I added washers to the latch and works now. Talked to my salesman and that is what they do at the dealer when you bring them in with the latching problem.

You would think they would take notice of this small but stupid problem. Not so much as I am replying to a 2 year old thread. My 2024 that I just got in December 2023 still has this problem.
One poster here said 2 washers under the latch fixed it. But 1/4"? - those are thick washers!

Washers is a good idea, but I also noticed it I put my hand in just the right spot and lean, the seat back flexes enough to latch without too much effort. I wonder if this "right fit" avoids rattles.

I cant figure out why the rear seat will not latch back. There are no obstructions and the pull cord returns when you pull it. It wont lock in place. Anyone else experience this?

JUST UNSCREW THE BRACKET OF THE CAR AND ADD 2 WASHERS TO SPACE OUT THE LATCH , I DID FIX MY DOING THAT.
