If I remember correctly, most laptops require 19VDC and a USB only gives 5VDC. Unless you can step up the voltage, it will not work.I wonder if it would be safe to replace the console USB fuse with a 10A or 15A and use a USB to barrel plug adapter to power your laptop. You don't actually need an inverter just to use an AC adapter to convert back to DC. AFAIK the rear console USB has a 5A fuse behind it and the front ports wire directly to the infotainment system.
It is much easier to get a cheap inverter to go from DC to AC and then just use the laptop's factory power adapter.
