Spamming this to all the "Mav as a generator" threads I know about.

If anyone is interested in how to permanently disable the 30 minute max idle via ForScan (so you don't need to go into the screen menu and disable the max idle every time), I think I figured it out. I will edit this post once I have absolute confirmation.

You would need to keep the engine running to use it. It would start the engine and probably keep it running You need to ground to the frame near the battery and not the negative lug. You need to connect after the bms or else the bms will get confused.
The 12vdc battery - polarity lug IS connected to the chassis. So seems you could connect your inverter to battery - lug (which is connected to DC DC converter from 460vdc traction battery) or the chassis & get same result.
If you want an isolated ground for either the 12vdc battery or inverter I believe you would run an inline diode with the polarity set for the direction of electron flow you desire?

Battery negative post goes thru the BMS shunt then to chassis.
Connecting inverter directly to battery negative post bypasses the BMS.
Although Ford's BMS embedded software needs improvement.

A reverse polarity diode would need high forward amps rating.
Maybe like:

Might be some Inverters that have internal reverse polarity fuses in them like AC/DC Converters used in RVs.

Not really. I ended up with it still putting the "30 minute idle timeout" warning on the screen. And it only respected my "Extend/Ignore" entry half the time. So it was actually worse than if I had not done any edits at all. It would sometimes give me the "30 minute idle timeout" warning, I would hit the button to say "I am still here, don't turn the truck off", and it would still turn off as if I had not hit the button to extend.

Annoyingly, never does that in my Maverick I stopped the car in park forgot to turn the key off, car was sitting there off, next more I come to the garage and the car is back on idling, head a headache 15 seconds in the garage must've been switching engine on & off all night

I won't be concerned about power dissipation if the plan is to run it with the seat down, I'm too old to remember the VW Beetle that had the battery under the rear seat tho
