Interesting theory although I think it has more to do with rolling hills and temperature.It pretty obvious that that must be an optimal weight for your driving conditions and it's added inertia is aiding regeneration.
Could also be calibrations of the truck.
My brother has identical vehicle maybe I'll try a experiment when it warms up again
