I'm down on my luck today. I just got back to work today after a health scare involving 2 ER visits and taking paternity leave to recover. Picked up my 9 month old from first time at daycare and as we drove by an unlit wooded area a full size buck jumps out at full speed and collides into my maverick. We are both lucky that we aren't hurt. Everything with my baby is okay.
The bumper is damaged, driver side headlight and front grill cracked. Dings and dented hood. There are no leaks, radiator fan and all seem to be okay. Auto hold doesn't work. Might be other features that don't work but haven't fully checked. I got police report, took photos and video. It was dark so I plan to take more in the morning. I was able to drive home.
Best part is I just made my final payment on it, and purchased a ford premcare extended warranty about a month ago.
I know the extended warranty won't cover the damage from a deer. But what happens now? Can warranty repairs be denied now that it's in an accident? Has something similar happened to anyone here? Is it worth keeping the warranty? Any advice is welcomed.
Thanks.
