Mind me asking a ballpark of how much you're premo care cost? I got quoted $2,790 for a 100K warranty on a 2021 F150 powerboost(a deal I backed out of), I'm hoping the maverick coverage for me new 2024 xlt lux package (taking delivery in Spring) would be somewhere in the 2000 range...
I purchase with my Mav and is on the details of that. I’m away from home of a few days and will have to get that info when I get back home.

I went with the 7yr/100,000 mile premium because of all the electronics. Wished I’d pumped it up to 8yr/125,000 mile as I’m driving a lot more than usual since I bought the mav. My wife’s explorer just sits in the garage. I’ve already got 30,000 on the mav.
Used to be you could add time or more miles and pay the difference as long as under 3yr/36k miles. Check with dealer, may have changed but if told you can't my suggestion would be to contact FoMoCo as some employees may not know.

Agreed, everyone should do the math and weigh against their comfort zone.

Example, if you're considering a 10 year extended warranty that costs $3000, and you're paying up front, you should also consider that same $3k invested for 10 years. An average 8% annual return would net you ~$6700 if you didn't need to use it. Sure, it's possible the $3k warranty investment could pay back (in repair value) more than the $3.7k market return, but I'd also argue the odds are against you.

Again, everyone's personal choice, but the statistics probably prove out that the extended warranties are likely not the best use of your money. I say probably because I don't know of any of the OEM's that publish their extended warranty balance sheets. But the very fact they continue to push & sell them is rather telling.
I think this way, insurance companies (be it health, auto insurance or whatever) know what it is costing them in claims when they have insurance on something. Therefore, if they insure something for say $1000 they know that on average it's costing them less than that. Note average! Question is, will you be the one that would have a claim for less or for more? When Ford sells a extended warranty they have the figures to know what the average cost of repair will be for a given time or mileage. If they sell a plan for $2000, on average that is what it will cost in repair. Some will have zero cost in repairs, others will have $4000 in repairs to average the $2000 cost of a plan. All insurance work that way.

I never buy an extended warranty from local dealer any more since I found out about floodfordesp.com. It’s way less expensive than local dealer price for same ford extended warranty.
i agree with this comment. The ford website was about 30 percent cheaper than the dealer in my area.

Just purchased 10yr/100K with light package, $100 deductible for $1860. Here is the quote from the Ford protect website (did not give me an option to include lighting, etc.). I only drive about 10k a year.

My understanding is you can revise your current plan as long as your vehicle is still under the manufacturer warranty. Don’t know if they will give the dealer cost in that situation. Give Granger a call. They have actual people who answer the phone instead of menu options.
Most likely would be a cancellation replacement situation. Might be advantage if done through original selling dealer if he will lower his markup? Particularly if he is also servicing dealer?=keep you happy?

Floodfordesp.com price was 1/2 what my dealer wanted the last time they tried to sell me an esp. I told the guys in the service department including the service manager and they couldn’t believe it. Said they were going to buy their esp from flood ford.

Having been a Ford Dealership Service Advisor for 25 years (retired 5 years ago) on my 2022 XL Hybrid I purchased a 8yr/60k mile Premiumcare (with higher rental, first day rental and lights coverage). Just picked up my 2024 XL Hybrid today, I will be buying a 10yr/60K Premiumcare (I only have 11,8xx miles on my 2 year old 2022 so 6k/year is right, should be driving less as I get even older. Dealership gives all new sales a "free life-time" aftermarket powertrain warranty so even with that I purchase the Premiumcare warranty for other things not covered by powertrain.

People would always come in wanting Ford or the Dealership to pay for repairs after bumper to bumper warranty expired, it would have been unfair to those that paid for an extended warranty to do repairs at no cost for those that didn't pay for extended warranty.

2022 is for sale in "Market Place".

A lot of online posters say dealerships don't want to repair under warranty, we loved it when a customer had a warranty, made our job easier, just had to play the "game" to get coverage at times, most times on aftermarket warranties. With Ford, we knew what was covered.

Just try to figure how many miles and for how long so both end about the same time, whichever occurs first is the end of the warranty.

You can choose different deductibles, options are: disappearing (meaning zero deductible if repaired where warranty purchased, Zero ded, $50 and on up. Lower deductible plan will cost you more. I buy the zero, cost me more but zero at any dealer.

Also for those that travel, there are benefits for travel expenses if break down occurs away from home. (don't remember how far away) Food, lodging etc. Peace of mind.

Like any insurance, wasted money if you never need it, never have enough if you need it.
Hey Bob.

Thanks for your comments on the Extended Warranty plans. Very helpful. And congratulations on getting your second Maverick!

Now that you have it, perhaps one of the first mods is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Glossy) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($5 delivered)

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)

I'm in the market for am ESP for my Mav also but when I compare Granger's price to the generic quote on Ford's own website, Granger is about $50 more? They claim to only mark it up $50 over their cost. I call Bullshit on that.

We just got an 8 year / 100K / $100 deductible Premium Care plan from Flood with the light bulb add-on for $1300 for our '23 Hybrid. A warranty of that amount of coverage for about 4.5% of the total price of the truck is a deal.
Side note: Since Granger Ford is a sponsor here, we tried them first, but their website was completely borked for several days running, so we went with Flood.

Thats a tough call much of which depends on finances...

I got the premium care noting that there is quite of bit of technology in vehicles these days. The coverages for electrical and "High Tech" are better under premium and I thought worth the cost.

Here is a link to Flood Ford's information on those plans which, IMHO, makes it much easier to compare plans and costs.

You dropped Granger. I applied and have not received an email confirming. Is this normal?
