The original post indicates " I know the extended warranty won't cover the damage from a deer. But what happens now? Can warranty repairs be denied now that it's in an accident?

It appears the OP is aware that the extended warranty will not cover damage from the deer. Thus is aware Insurance is the path to go for the repairs related to the accident. I don't believe insurance is the issue here. From what I read he wants to know if other future issues related to his truck that are unrelated to the deer accident will be covered by the warranty now that he has had the deer accident. At least that is my understanding.
Exactly. Like I said in post #4 - unless they find deer guts in a defective wiper motor it WILL be covered by the extended warranty.

Keep your coverage for peace of mind OP. You’re probably already sleep deprived with your new bundle of joy!

I'm down on my luck today. I just got back to work today after a health scare involving 2 ER visits and taking paternity leave to recover. Picked up my 9 month old from first time at daycare and as we drove by an unlit wooded area a full size buck jumps out at full speed and collides into my maverick. We are both lucky that we aren't hurt. Everything with my baby is okay.

The bumper is damaged, driver side headlight and front grill cracked. Dings and dented hood. There are no leaks, radiator fan and all seem to be okay. Auto hold doesn't work. Might be other features that don't work but haven't fully checked. I got police report, took photos and video. It was dark so I plan to take more in the morning. I was able to drive home.

Best part is I just made my final payment on it, and purchased a ford premcare extended warranty about a month ago.

I know the extended warranty won't cover the damage from a deer. But what happens now? Can warranty repairs be denied now that it's in an accident? Has something similar happened to anyone here? Is it worth keeping the warranty? Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks.
Best to have a Ford Dealer do the deer damage repair! At least one other Hybrid owner here has had a bad result from using an independent body shop.

I would hang on to the extended warranty. I bought mine to “protect” all the electronics & motors (wipers/windows/hvac/etc/etc) that are not covered by powertrain warranty.

I can’t imagine it would be reasonable to reject a claim for an electronic or motor issue that is totally unrelated to a deer hit.

I dented my rear bumper in an at fault boneheaded move. But if my touchscreen “bricks” I would fully expect my extended warranty to handle this covered claim.

Unfortunately, the extended warranty does not handle glass or headlights etc even if not damaged by an accident. If a manufacturing defect can be proven, however, you may be able to argue over it;)
for an extra $70 you can add on headlight coverage (if the lights/electronics) fail on it - when signing up for the extended warranty. I did.

well just use certified parts or buy on the "net" the good thing is these parts are not extremely expensive,if you live in a high deer collision area ,wait a bit you might have a deer strike that really warrants repairs. My daughter was driving to the other cabin( less then a mile) not driving very fast .a deer jumped in the road and stuck its head between the front grill bars on her Honda element and did very little cosmetic damage but knocked the radiator and condenser out with repairs around a thousand dollars damage,I had a deer try to commit suicide on my Maverick at around 55 or 60 mph it hardly hurt anything made a crack in the grill( can live with that) just try to make sure your parts are certified,(stuff gets iffy now) you might ask the dealer.just hope they are honest, factory OEM is very expensive and they might try to stick you with that imaginary 3.5% write up fee as well(man the greed) or go "Mad Max" and have your favorite metal shop make a deer proof front end for it( trouble is on a Maverick or an Escape no place to really mount anything-see if the local PD has any Escapes with pushbars installed to give you an idea)
