Or you’re overspecializing. Markets work a lot differently on the mainland with the caveat being during normal times. Islanders will always have to bake transport costs into their purchases, large and small. That being said someone from Hawaii still purchased from Long MacArthur. It depends on supply and demand, barriers to entry, and lack of intrabrand competition. All of those factors contribute to prices over MSRP. If you reside in an island like Hawaii you either buy a car over MSRP or you don’t drive any car at all. So it’s smart to buy over MSRP because it’s your only choice and dumb to pass.
