Curious if anyone of you who already own your Maverick have been getting contacted by the dealership to trade it in?

I made an initial inquiry to Carvana for giggles months ago, and received an email update the other day from them offering $27,000 for my XL, which is about what I paid for it all in with taxes included.

They'd have to make me a hell of a deal for me to even consider it.

Anyone else go to the dark side after your long-awaited Maverick?

I have a Mav XLT EB AWD that's scheduled to be built the end of July. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying at this point just to turn around and sell as I don't need to vehicle now. I'm curious to see what kind of responses you get here in the thread. From what I gather the prices are all over the place depending on the area of the country you live in and some other factors that I haven't been able to figure out yet, lol).

My XL EB FWD Mav with no options had a peak Carvana offer of $30,712. I paid $19,180 out the door at Granger. Now that offer is down around $27,000.
I just don't see anything else out there I'd rather have. I have a short commute, so I've considered cashing out and buying an older truck or a Jeep Wrangler (my first car in high school, drove it 13 years), but used prices even on really old vehicles are so badly inflated it's not a good option for me.
That being said, $27,000 is still an insane offer for a used truck that's basically a fleet-quality vehicle.

I just went thru this exercise this week, on my '23 XLT EB FX4 4K w/2000 miles on it, thinking about ordering a MY24 Ranger, or buying an Explorer off the lot w/incentives.

MSRP of $31,130, Carvana $31,737, Carmax $33,000, Vroom $33,989.

Wow those prices don't seem very good at all for basically a brand new truck compared to some of the other offers I've seen. Seeing posts like this give me pause as I'm debating buying my soon to be built XLT EB AWD just purely for a flip as I no longer need the vehicle. I'm just not sure there would be much meat on the bone for resale for me. It just seems like prices are all over the map depending on where you live. I am in Metro Detroit, MI fwiw and I can't go to the store and back without seeing at least one Mav around me (usually it's more than one, lol).

It was interesting timing...I got the email from Caravan months after making an inquiry with no intention of selling, and just the other day I got an email from the dealership. I sent them Carvana's offer. However, even at $27K you KNOW the dealership is going to put an ADM on the truck even as a used product. They need to make it worth my while for me to trade. I'd want a '23 Ranger; what I really want is to order the '24 Ranger, but after the long wait for my Maverick I'm not sure I want to go through that again.

Crazier still...I'm about 100+ miles away from turning 19K miles.

"I just don't see anything else out there I'd rather have." I'm feeling that. Took a long time for the new Ranger's looks to grow on me. I wanted a Tacoma until I sat in one. I'm 5'6" and couldn't get comfortable and felt like I was driving with my knees up to my chin.

The Maverick is cool, even in the XL model which I will sing the praises of - keep it simple.

Check WhipFlip for sell pricing. Don't know if they are for real though. 22 Civic - Carmax $23,000 Whip Flip $24,141?

Ford dealer offered $32,750 for my FE Lariat Lux with 24k miles. Carvana offered $35,750 for it and I marked it in good shape rather than great shape (no dings, scratches or any damage). I paid around $35k with taxes.

My new dealer (not Gary Yeomans 🤣🤣) where I ordered my 23 Lariat said they would match any offer from Carvana, etc. so I will probably trade it in and pay less sales tax. Is that the dark side @JennyJoannSuebeeMcNash ?

That's not how it works here in Arkansas, where I live. You can sell a used vehicle to anyone and you have 30 days to deduct that from the purchase price of a more expensive vehicle, for sales tax purposes. And sales tax is not paid at the stealership here, it is paid at the DMV when one goes to get their tags.

Gary Yeoman's was the dark side for MANY. My overall experience was OK. I know yours was a nightmare!

Can you tell the dealer, you'll pass on the Maverick if they'll apply a $3,000 credit toward your Ranger purchase? That way they could sell it brand new (after adding $5000 or more) and you wouldn't have to do anything with it (except enjoy the credit).

That would be a good way to keep from going through all the effort. Surely they have a Ranger on the lot or in their network somewhere.

I priced mine right after I got it because I have another one coming and then did it again recently. I have a Lariat Lux hybrid with CP360A and BAP, 4000 miles. Vroom only offered originally $31k, now down to $27000. Carvana offered $36k originally and now down to $30k. I had some great discounts and rebates and got it for $34k after TTL but has an MSRP of $36,700. Definitely not getting offers anywhere near $5-10k over MSRP. Not even getting MSRP which is insane for a hybrid.

Exactly, and it's not like I need an XLT or Lariat model. I'd be fine with another XL. Debating the 2 door vs. 4 door.

Just sold mine last week to Carvana . It was 2023 XL Hybrid with Tow and Co-Pilot 360. They gave me $32,870.00. I paid OTD $24,150.00. No Recalls.
