They are full of sh**. Yes, the tone was meant to be harsh just judging by the Title of the story. As a Hybrid Maverick owner I CAN say they are full of B.S. You say “higher speed”, I say 75mph efficiency is WAY above 30mpg’s. I’m not clicking the link, just asking “how did they measure...
Here's a quick 2.2 mile lunch run that got me 107.5mpg's.
1: Drive in ECO mode.
2: Get your cruise control ready, it works at 20mph and above.
3: Pulse and Cruise. Means accelerate from a stop fairly quickly then hit the cruise control. Maverick can be all-electric at 70mph if you're going...
Why would anyone ever measure mpg's at the pump after driving 11 miles? If the dash "lie-o-meter" is off by 15% that means I probably only got 46mpg's. That's it. Burn the Maverick with Fire....
Were they driving 75mph up Pike's Peak?? 30mpg is a ridicules low number for the Maverick Hybrid. Mine gets over 34mpg's going 80mph..... My mostly highway commute gets me nearly 55mpg's.
What surprises me is that Ford sells the XL-Hybrid without cruise control. You're never going to get the great mileage without using the Cruise Control on the Hybrid. You would still get better mileage than an EB, but probably not in the 40's.
I replaced my 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo with a WRX back in 2015 because there was nothing else similar to the Baja at the time. Now, we've got Ford, Hyundai and probably Chevy soon, that will be in this "new" market segment. I don't NEED a truck 98% of the time, but the 2% of the time I do it's...
Priority 2 is Good. You might actually get built, but you also have a chance of receiving your Mav without certain CHIPS, such as CoPilot 360. Ford will send those to the dealers for installation when they become available.
You would only pay $10-12k up front for a Used Hybrid. Gas prices being what they are causes the Hybrid to be very popular right now. If you can wait for a new one to be built for you (next year if you don't already have an order in) than the hybrid might still be cheaper than the EcoBoost. I...

I would consider selling my Hybrid XLT Mav in Velocity Blue with Sunroof, SIBL, Co-Pilot 360, 4-pin receiver hitch, tri-fold tonneau cover, and 620 miles, for a reasonable markup......
It's weird that the Ford dealer has you upside down on the F150 right now.... You should just take out another loan for $25k to buy the Mav, then profit after you've done ALL the paperwork. Wait a minute, that's what you said. Carry On good Sir.
Some individuals are reporting missing pieces of insulation between the engine compartment and the front door. This could very easily be the culprit if NVH is less than ideal. My Mav is stone cold silent, and it includes these insulators...
I would consider selling my lightly used (600 miles) velocity blue XLT hybrid, with moon roof, SIBL, Co-Pilot 360, 4-pin receiver hitch, tri-fold tonneau cover for $$ above the MSRP.
How high you willing to go?? ;)
