After pulling fuse 11 to disable telematics, I have a NO GPS message on the map screen. I have all of the data reporting and automatic update functions disabled, but would like to have GPS for the nav screen, so I guess fuse 11 will go back in. Hopefully, switching off the reporting options will prevent most of the privacy invading data harvesting? Does anyone know?

Just use your phones GPS, it's better anyway.
Correct, Android Auto/Car Play for the win :). Smoother and more responsive, plus Google easily understands where I want to go where the built-in Ford map doesn't. 🗣

I unplugged my GPS antenna from my Sync computer and did all the privacy paperwork with Ford. Use your phone.

You were going to lose it in a year anyway - unless you paid for the premium connectivity service.

It's not even the GPS really - it's the modem getting the data transferred.
You were never going to see a map anyway - so GPS would have been useless.

I agree with the others, use Apple Car Play or Android Auto. Then you have far superior choices IMO using Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze for navigation - and it's free. I didn't even consider renewing ford's connectivity service stuff when it was time to renew in my wife's expedition, told them thanks but No Thanks, wasn't going to pay for that. That's my 2 cents on the subject

Is that a 2025+ thing? My 2024 Lariat is over a year old, and the mapping/navigation works the same as it did when I took delivery.

The free subscription (how many months free?) to the Ford connectivity that we could sign up for - was thrown in for the 25's from the sound of it, from the get go.

I'm seeing several posts about the sub ending now, no one seems to want to pay to keep it going that I've seen yet.

Most of those already using their own phone Carplay tie-in for mapping - so I guess no one has actually mentioned that I've seen, if the built in navigation kept working or not.

My 24XLT didn't come with Nav - unless you did the free subscription it sounded like, and kept paying for it.

Lariat was part of the package then?

My connected services expired a week ago. The map still shows were you are, and the surrounding streets, but the ability to find an address or navigate is greyed out on screen. Android Auto has replaced the built-in Navigation for my needs. I have no thoughts of renewing connected services.

So already in cold Chicago - since it won't work in 5 yrs, how would SO feel about moving to Hawaii where it also won't work? ;-)

My '24 Lariat GPS works fine with the telematics fuse pulled. Maybe Ford changed it on the '25s. I believe the five year subscription is only for the SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link services. I expect GPS to continue to work after five years (might have to pay for updates if desired).

I do use phone GPS, but it's nice to have the screen show general streets and compass when I don't need the phone for directions. My 2025 Lariat didn't come with Navtrial subscription and I didn't buy one. As for Android Auto, it's also heavy on the data collection and marketing so I'll pass on that., as I value privacy over convenience. Thanks for the replies!

I don't understand why so many are concerned about Ford tracking you. Your phone is tracking you and most of the apps like WAZE and Google Maps do also. Unless you live off the grid and don't use a phone or computer you are being tracked.
