I would assume anything plugged in drawing enough current would do the job. I never notice the light being on even in the dark. If you are into total darkness in the cab paint it black. Actually the one I use is color selectable so it doubles as accent lighting for the passengers in the rear...
I should have been more specific. Behind the rear console in the rear passenger area on some Mavericks is an AC outlet like you would find in your home. There is a 400 watt inverter that supplies 120V AC. You can plug things like an electric razor, toothbrush or other low wattage appliances...
`I had a 2019 Ford Ranger that I owned for 5 years. The whole time I had it I kept a night light plugged into the AC plug in the passenger area. With the light plugged in the S/S was disabled for the entire time I owned it. I now have a 2025 Maverick and I do the same with the night light...
I like having it right on my phone, tablet or computer. Although I've never used it I think you can access it from the truck screen. I have a lot of user manuals on my phone for other devices. Just call me a 79 year old techie, but I also like streaming or thumb drives for my music vs CD's.
I can verify that the OBD scanners I have that work on my other vehicles do not work on my 2025 Maverick. Has anyone found one that does work? Update: Bought this one off of Amazon and it connects and seems to work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DP8PH63Q?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
For me whether true or not it can't be good for the engine or the starter. I'm old school and I like gas engines that don't start and stop dozens of times on a local shopping trip. I'll pay for the gas to keep the engine running. For me it has noting to do with mandates or saving the polar...
I have two night lights plugged into the AC outlets in the back seating area and the bed. I think the
truck sees a current draw on the AC inverter output and prevents Auto Start/Stop. I've tried with and without the lights. No S/S with lights plugged in. Have to push the button each time when...
I don't understand why so many are concerned about Ford tracking you. Your phone is tracking you and most of the apps like WAZE and Google Maps do also. Unless you live off the grid and don't use a phone or computer you are being tracked.
The AC receptables are only energized when the truck is running. So you want the lights on at that time. There is no drain when the engine is off. I put tape over the sensor to make sure the lights will be on light or dark. The ones I have only supposed to come on when it's dark. I'm not sure...
