Just swapped out my std Lariat APIM for a Nav enabled unit, everything works except the GPS tracking. I get the GPS symbol in the red circle with a line through it, similar to what happens when you lose satellite communication due to heavy forest, etc..

Any thoughts what might be wrong? Hoping it's a just setting that I'm missing...

Waiting hear back from the vendor Monday also.

Would you mind letting us know who your Vendor was? And, did you find a YouTube or any other Video that showed the process for doing this swap?
Thanks in advance for for your reply..

I'm working with breeves002 (do a search), a well known source in this field.

He has the unit back, to confirm/reflash the firmware, as something was not right. He's been great to work with so far, even covering return shipping. Hopefully it's just a programming issue, and I'll have it back shortly. He's currently out of Sync3 gen 4 units.

I don't know of any videos, but I can give you a quick run-down of the process.

Remove the HVAC panel (all clips) starting at the top corners and work your way down. Unplug the 2 HVAC couplers, and set the panel aside.

Unclip the 2 wire harness stays at each side of the opening, and remove the foam insulator.

Unplug the 5 couplers in the control unit, and remove the 4 screws holding it in, and wiggle it out and set aside.

Unscrew the 3 screws on the APIM bracket. I bent the bracket arms in flat to aid removal, and access the 4 couplers on top of the unit. When couplers are unplugged, remove the unit/bracket assy, then separate the bracket from the unit with 3 screws.

Reverse to install the new APIM.

First time I did it, took me about an hour figuring everything out & being very careful. Second time about 15 minutes. Looking forward to the third time. (NOT)
