I did some more checking today while doing my inaugural oil change. At this point I'm leaning towards these 12V batteries seem to inherently suck. I have good voltage at the battery with the key on-- 13.4-14.5+V --so no worries about the engine harness end having poor contact. Charged the battery again with my shop charger; 6A had it topped up pretty quick. Put my battery tester on it and tested at 504CA. However after doing the oil change and engine plate recall modifications and dropping it back down the battery was already back down to 12.2V.

If it's any consolation it sounds like it's a common issue with the Escape Hybrids going back to the 2020 MY as well. They just install a bigger AGM (the stock is actually lead acid SLI) and seems to do okay.
Not just hybrids.. my 2.0EB is doing the same.

The Fordpass connection over LTE will eat your 12v for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Deep sleep will kick in any time the battery charge drops under 50% charge. I just turned off WIFI and Fordpass in the truck settings, problem went away.

Well, yeah, of course you don't get the deep sleep messages via Fordpass if your vehicle isn't connected to Fordpass.

Battery testers work. ;) If the battery is staying above 50% charge, then naturally the vehicle wouldn't be going into deep sleep, don't need Fordpass to tell me that.

The newest answer to my dealer (El Cajon Ford) from Ford was to replace the battery and the battery management system. The dealer replaced the battery yesterday and the B.M.S. is due to arrive tomorrow. The truck has now been back and forth to the service department four times for this issue but fortunately they have an excellent shuttle driver.
hey. i got mine from el cajon ford as well. but it sounds like the 'lemon law' applies in your case.

What is interesting now is the Deep Sleep messages seem to be occurring after 10+ mile drives at freeway speeds. That happened twice again today (Sunday), even though the B.M.S. was replaced last Thursday. I did not drive the truck much on Friday and none on Saturday and did not get the message.

Based on what I've read on this thread, Fordpass and LTE are not the core problem. If they were, the deep sleep problems would be more widespread....

Depends on which deep sleep issue you mean. If you are talking about the faulty wire harness issue in hybrids, then yes you are right. If not, there are many possible reasons why the battery could be draining. It could be phantom power draw from almost any of the chips in the vehicle. Does the vehicle owner have a dash camera that runs in parking mode? If yes, that will drain the battery. Do they have something in the accessory ports (400W inverter plugs, 12v lighter socket) that is drawing power? Those stay hot for 45 minutes or so after you turn off the vehicle after all.

To be clear, any Ford vehicle with a 12v battery that goes below 50% will send a deep sleep error to Fordpass app, it's not unique to the Maverick.

Hey there! I can look into your Maverick’s message concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

I wonder if there might be some below-nominal batches of 12v batteries. Mine was built a week before yours and tends to settle at little above 12-12.2v Even trying a BMS reset and increasing the charging target hasn't affected that. Last week charged the battery directly with two different AGM-capable smart chargers and it gets up to 14-ish volts in a few minutes wherein the charger declares it full, but off charge it then rapidly drops back down. Likewise "worst" I've had is it being slightly low enough the dash/interior lights didn't automatically come on when opening the door once. Otherwise just a handful of times where being in and out while off has eventually resulted in a 'remote features disabled' alert.

Edit: Looks like from the similar threads @Hdang1980 and @mikellmikell also were late February/early March builds that had low 12v battery issues without a cable end failure.
I don't have time to type much now. I have run agm batteries for several years in mowers and Polaris ranger. They generally are warranted for six months because people use them two or three months a year an do not place then on maintenance charger. My son who sold 4 wheeler and cycles in past said they would die if they sat unused for several months. They could be revived with a smart charger for agm. The flood charge will be 14.7-14.8 generally. My noco agm charger has green light that blinks. When it gets above (85%?) It is through flood stage and blinking off (charging). Agm are very sensitive to being over charged and are heat sensitive so the closer to 100% the slower the charger cycles I had one that had not been used for over a year and I put it on recovery mode which took about a month to charge. My charger will drop to maintenance mode when it gets battery charged. Check voltage to be sure your battery charger is set for agm and verify battery voltage is at 100% (agm around 12.75-12.85?). If you start your maverick and ice runs 15 minutes there should be enough in HVB to charge 12v unless bms is confused by bad harness.

It's very interesting & frustrating. We have a FE Lariat Hybrid & Lariat Lux Hybrid both built February. Similar driving patterns but two weeks ago the Lariat started going into deep sleep mode after every start/stop episode no matter how many miles driven. No issues with FE yet and it has about 700 fewer miles. Our service advisor was "deer in headlights" and basically wait for something to happen. Been following "posts" and tried all within my ability. Keep us posted.

Sorry you, and probably many others, are experiencing similar issues. I am just fortunate that my dealer is just a few miles away and has good shuttle service. I will continue to pursue the issue. In fact, I just finished texting him again about the latest 3 messages. I heard this morning from the Ford rep on this who said they would pursue on their end. However, the "assistance" I got from them on a prior issue was comical.

Semi-related, but what are other hybrid owners getting for voltages at the battery in started/Ready to Drive after sitting with the door open and the doors closed?

I had to replace my subwoofer amp and it seems like the BMS is trying to charge at >15V initially when the battery is low-ish might be triggering an overvolt protection on the amplifier, but as soon as I open the door it drops the voltage and the amp will turn back on. Two different models exhibited this behavior.

Update: Looking at the commanded DC-DC converter this is intentional. Ended up just running the amp power through a bridge rectifier (which doesn't really do anything) that drops the voltage a little.

I don’t know what my battery is at but whenever I have the doors open for longer than normal my FordPass goes into Deep Sleep Mode.
