Don't use them they fail extremely quickly. Less than a year. Horrible
Love them! Over two years and still working great!

No hood struts for me.
Value does not equal the cost versus the use.
Hood struts $165-$175 tax incl. Free ship.
Opening the hood 4-6 times a year. Low value to me.

Tailgate Damper value👍
$29-$35 incl tax free ship.
Dropping the tailgate. Minimum 4x every two weeks for grocery shopping plus Sam's club.
Good value for me.

I put them on my '24 about 6 months ago. They work great, and the insallation could not have been easier. Highly recommended.

Did you ever try to close a hood with the prop rod still up? 🤦‍♂️ I did once and a new hood is not a cheap solution.
The MRT are on sale now for $99 and for me that is cheap insurance not to let it happen again, either by me or a well meaning friend or attendant.

No I wouldn’t try and close something that is still supported by what’s supposed to be holding it up.

I do agree with you that new hoods aren’t cheap and the struts have been known to cause disfiguration of the aluminum hood which is why I won’t ever spend the money.

No clue how that even happens, but I have the luxury (or at least the consistency) in not owning a car with gas hood struts in maybe 25 years. Nothing against anyone who sees convenience in the aftermarket struts, but my muscle memory is tailored to prop rods, and to date I have not had one get in the way or be a hindrance.

I didn’t include that I was on an emergency run, adrenaline was running high and it happened in a rush.

The post today by MRT about how they engineered their new strut assembly lifted me up 🙂.
