The demographic on this forum is mostly 50+, so the results here are not terribly accurate. If you go on Facebook or Reddit, you quickly find most users in those places are under 50, you get similarly inaccurate results from those owner surveys. In real life, meeting and seeing other Maverick owners, I’d give it a 60-40 split between under and over 50, as expected because of the fact that over half of new vehicle buyers are over 50. Older people have more disposable income, so it makes sense.

if you look at the bottom of this forum page you also find multiple already exist polls asking this same question.

Just curious. What's the age of the Maverick owners on this site? I'm 61. Any women owners? At our dealership, most Maverick owners are older (50+) and male. I think I've seen only one female Maverick owner at our dealership. I don't think I've seen any who are under 50. The Maverick seems like it would be something that would be popular with young people given it's practicality and entry level price. But the young people I've talked to personally like the way it looks, admit it'll meet their needs, but aren't interested in buying it because they seem to think it's a old man truck .
Old man here; Still towing boats and hauling stuff. Found larger trucks too difficult for the wife and I to climb into and out.

That was the same issue with Scion....target was a younger audience but ended up popular with the retiree crowd.
and the Honda Element. Only bought buy older buyers.

Boomer here, and Ford is having the same problem Honda had with the element. They targeted a much younger consumer group - the beach going surgfer crowd, but the end user ended up by-and-large being career, family oriented, adults. I had one, still do with ~300,000 miles on it, and it's my daughters car now.

I hate to admit it but I fall into the "Old Man Category" as well because I was 64 when I bought mine. Just as another commenter said it could be that when we were much younger, we enjoyed the small trucks of the late 60's and later like the Datsun, Toyota, Mazda/Courier but all these went from cheap little trucks to nearly full size and needs/nostalgia triggered the purchase. Low prices helped fit our retirement budgets as well.

I’m wondering the demographics of the Maverick vs the old Ranger and comparable trucks or even the earlier Courier and its contemporaries. Seems like it may be the same people who bought the 1990s era ranger might be buying the current maverick 😅
Owned a 2000 ranger, a 2011 ranger and now the 24 Mav Lariat. I'm an 83 years young male.

I bought my 1977 F100 when I was 20, that would make me 68.
Btw I still own the F100 🛻🛻
Nice 77!
Learned to drive on a 69 F100 3 on the tree, fleet side, long wheel base, power nothing.
Owned
82 f150
87 Mazda B2200
88 F150
2024 Mav xlt hybrid

You can probably guess I am closer to 70 than 60!

Wish I still had the 69 and the mazda!

67, 4th pickup. Previous truck was a Ram 2500HD. We were going to tow a trailer all over N.America but life had other ideas. The age question is interesting to me because the first time I looked at the interior, the angular lines in the door panels and two-tone colouring of the interior made me think that its target market was a younger crowd. Gas bills plummeted as expected, it fits into the garage, and it's size means the wife isn't afraid to drive it.

I'm 68. Bought my Maverick 2 years ago. I had a Silverado but after 150k miles, decided to change. I bought an Explorer that I really liked, but my daughter was in an accident that totaled her car. She couldn't afford another one, I gave her the Explorer. What I wanted was a Ranger. I had one in the late 90's and really liked it. I wanted the extended cab (jump seats) not the crew cab. No one had one. So, why a Maverick?
1. Cost
2. Would fit in my garage
3. Since I'm retired (construction), I really didn't need a big vehicle any more. Anything I need can be put in the Mav.
4. Gas mileage.

I specifically did NOT want a hybrid. I was getting mixed opinions about them in general. The biggest complaint I see on here concerns the battery.

I am 29 years old, female, and proudly own a 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat AWD. I turn 30 in December if that makes a difference 🤪 I am so excited to customize my truck as time passes!

Early 40s “elder” millennial female. My body told me I could no longer sleep on the ground in tents and wanted something that could tow a small camper without nickel and dime-ing every pound. But also wanted something that was reasonable to drive every day (only one vehicle for me) and haul things for home projects. Though it’s amazing what you can put in and on a Focus when circumstances dictate…
