Just curious. What's the age of the Maverick owners on this site? I'm 61. Any women owners? At our dealership, most Maverick owners are older (50+) and male. I think I've seen only one female Maverick owner at our dealership. I don't think I've seen any who are under 50. The Maverick seems like it would be something that would be popular with young people given it's practicality and entry level price. But the young people I've talked to personally like the way it looks, admit it'll meet their needs, but aren't interested in buying it because they seem to think it's a old man truck .
I'm 79, third Maverick - 1970 2dr, 1971 2d, now my2025 Lariet Hybrid. My new 25MY is light years ahead in technology & comfort.

That makes sense. When I was 19 my only choice was a 9-year-old car that my dad bought for me that he bought for cheap from a customer who wanted to get rid of it. Having said that, there are a couple of young people at my job that actually said that it was nice. But it was an old man vehicle. 😂
lol the only reason I got it is to help build credit to buy a house and not wanting to daily my project 84 c10 hundreds of miles around Michigan in the winter

Well, I'm 79, male and still work full time. I Could have bought a Ridgeline, Tacoma, or Frontier, which are all made in the USA, but in non-union plants. I work in a highly unionized industry (Electric Utilities) so I opted for the domestic brand, Blue Oval Ford. Imagine my surprise when the vehicle arrived (after 9 months) to discover that it was made in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. The Ford plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, is unionized under a union called SINTRAFORD, which is not affiliated with the UAW. I doubt that any of the folks on the jobsite will know that it's made in Mexico, but at least I can tell them that it's made in a Union plant.

The first digit of the VIN number indicates where the vehicle is made.

OREO cookies have been made in Mexico for a.few years now. Don't be surprised that 80% of most things aren't made here. It's about profit. Capitalism is the driving force sadly.

The Crown Vic was made in Canada from 1992 until production ended in 2011. It didn't seem to bother anyone. I'm not going to become bothered any more by a vehicle being made in Mexico than I was by an American staple being made in Canada as long as they don't go super crazy with it. Truth be told, and unfortunately, it seems as if big business seems to exploit workers wherever they are.
