  1. how times have changed..

Wanting to do work on our vehicles is a 'dead give-away' that we're old. When I opened the hood of my ol' 58 Meteor (Canadian Ford), half my view was of the engine, and the other half was the driveway below, and EVERY key component was visible and accessible to remove and fix. I remember whining...
  2. Engine air filter replacement.

$50 sounds awfully expensive for an air filter, considering the materials used to make them. Is there something special about them that I'm not aware of?
  3. Motorcraft Premium Windshield Wash Concentrate

Hope this is not too off-topic -in case anyone here hasn't heard of this: Put some windshield washer anti-freeze in a plastic spray bottle to help scraping ice off windshield and windows on freezing mornings.
  4. Tailgate won’t unlatch

Gotta admit, that CHEAP HOLDER GRIPPING the rod REALLY DOES LOOK CHEAP! C'mon, Ford -is this really the best you could do?!?!
  5. Snow tires and spare tires

I just swapped out my 'All Seasons' tires for 'All Weather's, and put one of the 'All Seasons' tires on a steel rim to act as a spare. It sits (chained) in the bed. I plan to make a box to cover it, and rig it so I can still carry 8-foot planks with the tailgate at 45 deg. Gonna look into your...
  6. Poll: Who here is interested in Buying the New Ford EV Midsize Pickup in 2027

I voted 'No', but not because I'm anti-EV. By 2027 or a few years later, I expect EVs to finally take off, when infrastructure, consumer sentiment and battery technology support them. Unfortunately, charging won't be cheap. My reason for voting 'No' is that I keep my vehicles for an average of...
  7. Maverick owners demographics - just curious

I'm 80, and my Mav is perfect for my needs, but I'd think it would be great for younger people starting their home-ownership 'adventure', or hauling bulky sports equipment (bikes, etc.).
  8. Rear wiper

Could someone here direct us to a bidet owners forum? 😁
  9. Deer meet truck :(

You can't beat Venison or Moose meat for flavour. Grew up in a rural northern area, and my dad bagged one moose and one deer every season. That took care of our winter meat needs.
  10. NEW POLL Typical Maverick Owners Age Range ( demographics)

Agreed -my father had one of those. Seemed to last forever.
  11. NEW POLL Typical Maverick Owners Age Range ( demographics)

Gotta admit my '83 DATSUN pickup was my first taste of compact Japanese pickups. The reliability blew me away. Followed it up with two more Nissan pickups -a '94 and a 2010. Both gave me reliable service over the years. Hoping my '25 Lariat will renew my faith in 'Detroit Iron' (with a Spanish...
  12. NEW POLL Typical Maverick Owners Age Range ( demographics)

I belong to a rarely mentioned group: 'War Babies'. Conceived in Europe during WW2 to Canadian Serviceman & British Servicewoman, then born in Canada.
  13. Eruption Green

Got it and like it. Just not so sure about the name 'Eruption' green.
  14. Poll: Who here is interested in Buying the New Ford EV Midsize Pickup in 2027

Not in 2027, for the following reasons: (a) I never buy until the platform has been around for a few years (b) I'm planning/hoping to get 10 years out of my 2025. I also have a question: would that compact EV pick-up be body-on-frame or unibody? (After seeing posts with minor dings turning...
  15. What did you all cross shop Maverick with?

I wanted a compact hybrid pickup, so there was nothing really to cross-shop with.
