I have 2 questions.

1. What type of car wash did the OP use? brushless? high pressure hand? automated ride through?

2. Have any other FE people had the same problem or is this a (hopefully) one of event?

Went through the local car wash today, 3rd time since I got the Mav. Happened to look on the passenger side and noticed that half of the First Edition Trim was gone....Very cheap stuff they put on there. Have contacted the dealer and waiting to hear if there is anything they will do. If I can't get it redone I'd just as soon have the remove it from both sides. Here's the pics... Pic 1 is the left side, Pic to is the right side. Looks like crap.

That is what happend to me with my FX4 stickers on the back. Ended up removing both stickers by hand. I included a pic.

Another thing. My salesman warned me about autowash brushes that go in both directions. It catches the radio antenna on roof.

I've run mine through two automatic car washes and no problems at all. What also to be aware of when going thru an automatic car wash is to either turn on the temporary neutral transmission selection with the engine off or keep the engine running while in neutral position depending on the type of car wash.

I have had FX rangers and F150s for many years and can't hand wash in winters and NEVER had a problem with decals. Had a bronco 2 back in the day was working for ford managing it was black came in NEW with a red tape stripe down sides and hatch was pissed off we couldn't get the stripe off took us hours just to get it off the hatch with a heat gun, I left the sides. It shouldn't happen and should be under warranty.

We talking auto wash with bristles or touch less high pressure spray auto wash?
I wouldn’t take any car to an auto that uses bristles.

Well, no waring labels about this and you'd think it would stand up to a regular car wash, wouldn't you? I'll post what happens next.
Most auto washes that have moving parts state they aren’t responsible for damage.
I would take it to an auto that doesn’t sandblast the car with too much pressure or hit it with any bristles.
(after you get new stickers, that is)

Same question. OP doesn’t seem to want to answer it.
Most auto washes with mops and spinning bristles have warnings stating that aren’t responsible for damage (because they know their abrasive wash will damage cars).
Ford will probably replace the stickers, but will warn the OP not to go to auto washes with moving parts and to avoid high pressure directly on decals.

We have an FX4 sticker on our F150 that has been going through car washes weekly for the last 17 years and it hasn’t even peeled, faded, chipped, etc. you got a lemon sticker. Also have taken our FX4 maverick through our local autowash with spray, not roller brush about 6-ish times and no issues.

Correct. IF the decals are applied properly using the PROPER material, this should NOT be happening. I once had to grind a vinyl pinstripe off a 2003 Toyota Tundra where the clear coat was actually giving way around it!! These are clearly manufacturer issues.........unless any have been applied by the customer.

Mine is starting do the same thing possibly in a brushless car wash. I've never heard of FX4 stickers coming off on other Fords. My cheap window stickers never come off either. My sales guy says he only has heard of one Ranger with a bad FX4 decal. I can't get the service guys to even call me back.

Mine has bubbles underneath the decal. I thought for a minute water froze and popped it with our low temps, but likely the wash. Just a sticker, but still a pain on a new truck.

As someone who works in the “label” industry (and also wrapped a car or two), it may well be the wrong adhesive-backed vinyl was used, the panel was contaminated when applied, temp was too cold, etc. Obviously an adhesive failure caused by something. I would just remove the rest of the failed one and the other side as well. Probably doesn’t bode well for the other decals (hood and roof?). I’ve put some small ones on my truck during semi-chilly weather, knowing I was pushing it for long-term durability. So far so good through one auto wash that I had to use because the weather was uncooperative. Good luck!
Can you reply as the best vinyl material to print on?

If there is water under the main part of the decal itself, not just at the edge, it means the decal was never adhered properly in the first place. This is on Ford.
