Went through the local car wash today, 3rd time since I got the Mav. Happened to look on the passenger side and noticed that half of the First Edition Trim was gone....Very cheap stuff they put on there. Have contacted the dealer and waiting to hear if there is anything they will do. If I can't get it redone I'd just as soon have the remove it from both sides. Here's the pics... Pic 1 is the left side, Pic to is the right side. Looks like crap.

My last car had a vinyl decal on the hood.. My sons car had vinyl stripes that were added...never had that problem... If it was put on right the decal should have been fine.

Quite honestly, I see your point on the decals/paint colour issue, though the decal I REALLY want to survive is the hood one since it'll help the sun glare off the hood. I've never owned a vehicle with decals, so I'm definitely curious how that's gonna work out long-term.
My first vehicle with decals too. I'm going to try to get them to remove the side decals, they look okay but I'd be just as happy without them. I also like the hood decal. Hope it holds up.

Don’t be surprised if it’s a small struggle to get covered. It’s damage from a outside source. We all know those jets for wheels and under carriage have a LOT of pressure. Aka, swing by my house and I can grab my pressure washer with the right/wrong tip and blow the vinyl decal off the side of probably any car.

I would think unless there is a warning in the owners manual. Or some type of maintainece ????? the decals require, they should be replaced. At no charge to you of course.

As someone who works in the “label” industry (and also wrapped a car or two), it may well be the wrong adhesive-backed vinyl was used, the panel was contaminated when applied, temp was too cold, etc. Obviously an adhesive failure caused by something. I would just remove the rest of the failed one and the other side as well. Probably doesn’t bode well for the other decals (hood and roof?). I’ve put some small ones on my truck during semi-chilly weather, knowing I was pushing it for long-term durability. So far so good through one auto wash that I had to use because the weather was uncooperative. Good luck!

I have a plotter and do some wrapping - your 100% correct- my guess is adhesive issue also but could have been everything you mentioned.

Darn! Does this mean I can't use my commercial-grade power washer on mine like I did my ex-wife's car?
