  1. Future Compact Toyota Pick Up

I had a rental 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road Double Cab for the last month. While I like Toyota and it was decent to drive, it really seemed dated compared to the Maverick. Seemed much smaller inside especially in the rear seat. Fuel economy was poor as well. I would strongly consider an updated...
  2. ReadyLift Group Buy!!!!!

Hereā€™s my truck with the SST lift. Itā€™s probably the same truck in the manufacturer photo as they took some photos after installing. 8k miles and Iā€™m still loving it. Added at least a couple inches clearance between the lift and larger tires.
  3. Before & After **WARNING** Photo Dump! [Overlanding Maverick Build]

I met this guy and his fiancĆ©e at Overland Expo in Flagstaff. I didnā€™t catch a name, but enjoyed talking Mavericks. I think theyā€™re on Instagram @wanderingtheweekend. It was really a nice build. He added airbags to help rear sag. I thought the tent top was brilliant. There was a lot of interest...

  5. Camper build ideas for a Maverick with a top

I saw this custom camper at the Overland Expo in Flagstaff. I think theyā€™re on Instagram @wanderingtheweekend. It was really a nice build. He added airbags to help rear sag. I thought the tent top was genius.
  6. ReadyLift Group Buy!!!!!

I have this exact 1.5 in. lift. I think itā€™s perfect for 245/65R17. Decent gain in ground clearance and the tires donā€™t look stuffed into the wheel arches. Also I donā€™t feel Iā€™m pushing the limits on the CVT angles, etc.
  7. Maverick set up for camping & light off-roading with bed rack and RTT! Xtrusion, ROAM rooftop tent, Fordrangerlifts, Falken

Great set up! How do you like the tent? Iā€™m looking to add a tent for occasional use and Iā€™m trying to find the sweet spot as far as quality and price. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Maverick Road Trip CO -> SoCal (2,628 Miles total) : Feedback & Results

Thanks for the great write up. Your experience mirrors mine with my XLT FX4! Looks like a fun trip in an excellent truck.
  9. Ford stock turns downward due to lack of sales! Reasons not to pay ADM!

Supply chains are a mess. I donā€™t think anyone would argue with that. If Ford wanted to get ahead of this, they need to be as transparent as possible at every point possible. To start communicate exactly what is the current status of manufacturing and provide estimated timelines even for...
  10. Fx4 package is a must on snow

I've owned 2WD vehicles and I've owned AWD vehicles. Now I only own AWD/4x4 vehicles. Dang. I need to find a better climate! šŸŒ“šŸ˜Ž It is true, AWD will get you in trouble a lot quicker than 2WD!
  11. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

This has the lift on all wheels. Generally I think a level looks good (I have one on my RAM 1500), however the Maverick looks just right to me with a rake. Plus I want all the clearance I can get front and back!
  12. Good news, bad news. The salesman told me it was damaged and then sold it to someone else!

So sorry this happened to you. Not sure what the actual cause of your damage was, but I would think it was a driver experience issue with loading/unloading. Unfortunately our society doesn't place as much value on good old know how as it once did and the current labor shortage is making it...
  13. 1“ Rough Country Level Kit on Hybrid Maverick + 245/70/17 Toyo AT3

The level looks great! The hybrid is an incredible value and will be extremely capable. Almost double the MPG of my ecoboost! When Ford's delivery issues work out, I could see ordering a hybrid XL.
  14. 2 Motorcycles & Camping Gear. 24mpg With XL AWD

That looks like a fun load of cargo. Airbags are great idea for the Maverick I hadn't considered. Nice clean install too with the Schrader valves. I've used airbags in the coils on a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder and they really helped with towing. Thanks for sharing.
  15. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

Thanks for the positive feedback on the build! I've appreciated all the great info shared here by everyone else. Yes. It is a Thule (SportRack branded) cargo box I had in the garage I threw on to provide lockable covered storage for a trip. It is backwards, which is a little goofy, but it...
  16. Are you going to jump ship if Subaru presents a new version of Baja in 2023?

We just picked up a Forester Wilderness for my wife. We couldn't pass up selling our '19 Crosstrek for more than we originally paid MSRP. So far very impressed with the Wilderness. It is really nicely finished and solid. I like the new styling. The CVT seems more responsive and better at...
  17. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

I'm north of SLC in upper Ogden Valley not too far from Powder Mountain.
  18. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

So I finally had a chance to crawl around under the truck with my Stanley tape measure. From what I can tell the lowest hard point limiting clearance is the exhaust. A rough measure puts clearance at a little more than 10.5 inches. This surprised me. Of course this is unloaded, etc. The...
  19. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

I had it professionally installed. The ReadyLIFT kit is $400. Wheels about $800 and tires about $900. I did some trade, but I think install/alignment would be between $500-$700 depending on the shop.
  20. 3000 miles and Loving my Cactus Gray XLT FX4 (on 1.5" lift, Falken Wildpeak AT, Yakima Bed Rack)

I used the bed clamps. I think there is a Yakima adapter kit to use with bedrails, however so far I don't have a tonneau cover so the clamps worked well. The rack was easy to assemble and mount, however the top of the bed sidewalls slops a small amount, which meant I needed to keep everything...
