Pulled out of the driveway and went about a block and the truck started dinging and the dash display started to go haywire.

The first warning was "passenger sensor blocked". I've seen this before because I keep a lot of stuff in the passenger seat and it's no big deal to me. Then the fun began.

Then I got the message about the pre-collision assist not available (which I've seen before when there is moisture on the windshield). Then the warnings on the dash started popping up quicker than I could clear them. I got the service engine soon, followed by power train malfunction and then it said that the transmission was in low and the "D" on the shift knob was flashing. I pulled over and the parking brake engaged before I even stopped (with a warning on the dash informing me of this). I immediately shut the truck off, pulled the key, and opened the door to shut it down completely.

When I restarted the truck, all of the warnings started marching across the display. Since I was only two blocks from home, I decided to get it back to my driveway and hook up the OBDII reader when it gets light out.

The thing that really bothered me was that when I drove the two blocks to get home, I had to ride the brakes the whole way. If I took my foot off the brakes pedal, the truck would accelerate. Got it home and I'm going to get the OBDII codes when it gets light out.

I will follow up as more information becomes available. I will call my dealership when they open at 9:00.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

So, here are the codes I got with the OBDII reader:

U1011 - The automobile fault code U1011 indicates a problem with the Controller Area Network (CAN) communication harness, a faulty Engine Control Module (ECM), or a poor harness ground connection. The most common symptom is the Engine Light ON or Service Engine Soon Warning Light.

U1028 - The automobile fault code U1028 indicates a communication issue between the vehicle’s modules. This is often accompanied by the engine light turning on. The cause of this fault code could be a faulty module, an open or shorted module harness, or a poor electrical connection in the module circuit.

Calling the dealer in about 15 minutes.

Had the warning light recall done about a month ago. Getting U1011 and U 1028. They seem to deal with ECM and CAN bus.

This is what happened to me this past Saturday! I posted about it here. I also got the same codes as you, ALL 4 TIMES!
Did you wait over 5 mins before starting it up again? After waiting the 5 mins, my truck operated normally (until it happened again.) The next day, the CEL went off.

I was doing 75-80 when it happened to me. The first time was after driving over 2 hours. The 2-4 times started after driving 30 mins then the 3 happened with 20 mins of each other.

It is currently at the Service and they cannot reproduce it (duh.) I did have the recalls done prior to this happening.

After I got it home, I called out from work and waited for the dealership to open. When I called them, the service manager was able to pull up the fault codes and told me to bring it in. When I drove it the dealership there were no problems except the check engine light was on. Currently waiting for the dealership to call back with a solution.

I have never had a problem with this dealership's service department (Wichita Falls Ford), so I'm trying to be positive (although I did notice two Mavericks in the service yard).

UPDATE: Drove the truck to the dealership and had no problems, except the check engine light being on. As soon as the dealership calls me back, I will update.
