Ford has basically said that hybrids were going to be constrained to 35 percent. Curious what our membership has ordered so far. Might give us a clue as to how long hybrid ordering will be available.
How are these orders to be placed? I have been in constant contact with my local Ford dealership, and they say orders are not yet being taken except for those leftover 22 reorders.

You need to find a new dealer......they are either completely clueless or liars. Neither is good.

I realize this board probably doesn’t fully represent the Maverick-buying population as a whole, but I am a bit surprised at the poll results and how skewed they are in favor of the Hybrid configuration.

I'm thinking Ford may have to recalibrate that percentage, just based on the sheer number of Hybrids I've seen people ordering in the last 2 days. Gas prices have dropped, but not enough, hybrid still really appealing. Just saw Honda is bringing out a 2023 HYBRID CRV
2022 Honda hybrid CR-V was what I was going to buy until I found the Maverick. The CR-V is about $34,000 and a really nice car. But the Lariat Maverick has more utility for my needs and is less money.

I am looking forward to the wait, gives me time to save up a larger down payment, and time to find all the accessories I want to add and the mods I want to do!!!

23MY Hybrid XL, spray in bedliner, spare tire, trailer hitch!

Also hopefully it gives FORD more time to sort out the few Hybrid issues. Ordered the lariat hybrid with a hitch on Friday. Got my confirmation while I was still on the phone with the sales guy. No issues with waiting. Is what it is.

I have been working for a Ford dealer for 26 years now, the hybrids are hardly in the shop for major repairs as compared to the non hybrids of the same model, I also have driven a 2013 C-Max PHEV for 4 years and 3 months and have put 90K on it, only had to change a transmission hose under warranty and have done a tune up, front and rear shocks due to living in banjo country, and on my 4th set of tires because I can't keep my foot out of the accelerator and I love the instant torque!!!

Hearing about hybrid shudder issues is making me reconsider switching from Hybrid to EB FWD, but I think I would need to cancel my existing 2023 order and create a new one

I realize small sample size but if this is any indication of the big picture… Ford is in trouble.

I ordered a hybrid last Thursday afternoon at my local dealership but they said they were not able to get any of their 6 orders in by the EOB. I received a call from the local dealership Friday morning that they were able to successfully got my order in - I received the actual email confirmation from Ford Friday morning by 10:30.

The two reasons I went with the hybrid:

1) I liked the small size of the Maverick getting around locally and the hybrid gas savings. I live in the DFW area of North Texas and if we were to travel very far outside of the metoplex area, my wife and I would likley take her full-size SUV.

2) The second reason is that I understand (and hope) that the '23 hybrid is still like the '22 model and can be flat towed behind a motorhome since we are looking forward to retirement and traveling by RV. It seems like a bonus feature that is not very common other than Jeeps and a few large trucks - neither of which that I am interest in driving around the rest of the time or their inital cost or gas mileage.

I think Ford SERIOUSLY misjudged demand for their Hybrid Maverick. This could end up like the Chinese real estate/banking fiasco....angry mobs lining up at dealers 18 months out wanting their Mavericks

I am not surprised at all, even with gas prices down currently by about 25% it still remains high. In my case, I don't have to buy a new vehicle and the main justification I have for spending a whole lot of money is the fact it is a hybrid. I think I have my 2023 XLT Lariat Luxury package order in at the dealer and I should get my order number in a day or two. We shall see.

There's another thread that stated Ford will close the order bank sometime next week for the Maverick. It stated demand far exceeded their quota.
I hope thats not the case as it will kill my want to spend 35K + for a new Ford. I couldn't order last year and I went to the dealership this morning and did the paperwork for the more costly 23. I will wait to see if I at least get an order number/date and go from there but am concerned about hybrids selling out again and XLT Lariat Luxury packages availability.
