I can tell you that it's absolutely worth it for 2022-2024 model years on the Ecoboost. I can't speak for newer ones, as it appears that Ford has dropped the auxiliary air to oil transmission cooler.

Thank you for the reply! Yes I'm torn between getting the 4k or saving some money and not on a 2026 Ecoboost. I know I will never tie anything, but the cooling and transmission concerns give me pause.

I think it is because it upgrades the engine and transmission cooling. It adds resale value down the line as well. You cannot readily add all of the components for the 4K tow later. It can be done but will cost more than having the optional items it comes with built in at the factory.

I myself don't tow on a regular basis. If I do tow it's a rental trailer and having the 4k package opens up larger towing capabilities for this, it can make the difference between a cheaper trailer rental vs. a more expensive truck rental.

Honestly, for newer model Mavericks I would probably opt for a Hybrid unless there was a package I wanted/needed that was only available on the Ecoboost. For instance, the FX4 package...

I love my 2024 4K tow Ecoboost, but since then the hybrids have had a transmission upgrade and the Ecoboosts haven't. I actually consider the change in cooling on the 4K Ecoboost a downgrade.

Yes! The enhanced engine cooling is worth the extra money alone, but you also get the integrated brake controller. You never know when someone will ask you to help them move and the load will be heavier than expected. You will get the money you spend back on resale.

Yes for the added capacity and resale. I've got it on our 25 Hybrid AWD.
The added automatic pro-trailer features are less useful. To use the auto backup feature you need to pre-teach the truck on specific trailers marked with a provided decal., and even then most anyone who tows a lot can back a trailer the old fashioned way.

That said, the way pro trailer can also automatically find and put the ball under any trailer receiver without any pre-learning and it is pretty slick and very useful, especially if you're trying to hook up to a trailer solo.

Not sure if vehicles without the pro-trailer kit can do this, but another neat feature is the ability to use the rear facing cameras while towing to view the hitch/trailer as well as get dual side views. Comes in very handy to keep an eye on your load.

It's a bargain compared to trying to add comparable equipment after the fact.

I don't know where "Chandler" is, but if it's somewhere hot, you would benefit from the additional cooling the package provides.

If you were already going to get AWD and CoPilot360, then sure since it's only an extra $745 on top. But if you were deciding between, say, a FWD and one with 4K tow, you're now adding $2,540 to $3,760 to the cost because 4K tow requires AWD and CoPilot360. I'd say that's solidly not worth it if FWD works for you.

Personally it's the only way you should order one!

If you have 100% certainty you will never tow, don't waste your money, if you are on a tight budget.

Oh I will 💯 never tow. I am strongly considering getting an AWD hybrid and just deciding on if I need to get it with Copilot 360 on it
