The 500 mile range on the hybrid did seriously get my attention. I should qualify and say I would drop the hybrid for an EV only if it had at least 300 mile range. 500 would be very sweet indeed!

I absolutely would. I put a reservation in the for lightning but canceled when I measured the dimensions out in the garage. Too tight for it and the telluride and I don’t want to try and charge it outside.

We charge our Tesla outside, it’s not a big deal if you set it up right. But we have a F150 too, and they are just too big unless you’re rural living or absolutely need it for work, in my opinion. I hate driving ours around… which is why we got a Mav.

I owned a 2017 all electric Ford Focus for 4 years and it was trouble-free, so, Ford is able to make an equally trouble free EV.

I would absolutely buy an EV Maverick.

Nope....while they sound interesting I think Biden is full of crap. The USA is not anywhere near ready for everyone to have an EV vehicle. The power grid couldn't handle the demand. In addition, I'd have to upgrade the electric service coming into my house in order to put a charging station as well as the electric panel. God only knows how much that would cost at today's crazy prices, just to charge it. Plus like others have posted the range EV's are getting are nowhere near adequate for travel. They may be great for local commutes to work and to go to the store, but traveling on vacation or sightseeing, NOPE. In my opinion they won't be ready until they have a range of 500 miles or more.

There are many of us that have our own Power grids, they’re called solar panels. for less than the cost of a new Maverick XLT I had $0 Electric bills and when I had my EV I bought a charging cord for $356 that I would use to charge my car overnight, always allowing me to have a full charge. I paid more for the power cord than I needed but it had five different pigtails to accommodate different plug in configurations. BTW my house was built in 1958 and I only had the 250 amp box. I would do this again in a heartbeat!

I would not go full plug in yet. Living on Nevada the distance between charging stations is still too far to be comfortable on long trips.

Absolutely. I'd even get one with 150 mile range.

My Mav is speccing out to $26k so I'd be willing to spend more but definitely not $50k

Not at this time for an EV only Mav.
Would get an AWD plug in hybrid right away.
EV range is the primary restriction.
Cost of electric is going higher just as fast or faster than gas.
Installing a fast charger is also an added cost.

Will consider again in the near future once my solar panels are installed.

Nope. I wouldn't mind it for a small commuter car, but the truck will be used for a lot of long trips. I don't have the patience to wait for batteries to recharge.

Hybrid is the way to go in my opinion. The only thing I would consider would be a plug in hybrid, but even then I'd likely stick with what I have on order.
