I ended up using zip ties and blocked some of the venting. Probably not the best for airflow but it only blocks about 8-10"

I just do this loop with the plywood latch bar. Hooks right around the frame and as long as the tailgate stays locked, it's secure.
I also have longer cable which allows you to go all the way across.
I have the Ford Tri-Fold and haul Motorcycles frequently, so I feel your pain
It takes up 7" of the front of the bed when fully folded up. That's about 13% of the whole bed. It sucks but the tonneau works real well. Often, if in need the space, I just spin off the two bolts holding it on and...
About a week ago (6mo into ownership), backing up into my parking pad. Rubbed up against the blinker of a motorcycle. A 24" long small dent in the passenger door. Not super noticeable but it ruined my day.
All the while the truck bed is beat up and the back seat has evidence of children.
I'm sure if you ask your dealer and tell them you don't want them drilling in they won't do it.
I got my plate from a dealer in a required state and live in one too. I told them I was gonna figure out an aftermarket no drill solution, so they just tossed the mount in the back.
I ended up...
As someone in the Analytics industry, I'm loving the math. I did similar stuff when I was deciding.
I had a spreadsheet that forecasted gas prices 10 years out and the 10 year total cost savings.
For me it wasn't huge as I'm unlikely gonna put more than 5k miles a year, but for those in the...
Is one of your keys set up with the MyKey? MyKey is essentially "valet" or "teenager" mode and severely limts the options you get in the truck.
Try your other keys and see if that changes it.
I used one of these mounts before on an old vehicle with no good options. Be careful as too much AC or heat on the back of your phone can mess it up. I definitely had my phone overheat and shutdown a few times.
I use AA for my phone but still mount it. Mostly this is to ensure I don't forget...
Cat shields work. You just gotta get a good one as the cheapie Amazon ones are garbage.
Cat thefts are a problem in our city and I've caught them on my security cams. A cat theft takes 45 seconds. A shield that makes it complicated or take much longer does make a difference.
Obviously if you...
I've just gotten into a habit of double clicking the ok button every time I start the truck up.
It's obnoxious and it baffles me why vehicles are so user unfriendly with all the settings.
That courtesy wipe had me frustrated a few times in the early days.
Wipe windshield
stop
a few seconds later courtesy wipe
doubt self and tap the wiper switch assuring myself it is off
GOTO step 3
Id be interested in a meetup, and i love Chicago.
Buuuuuut, adding 1000 miles to my truck for a weekend trip is a bit much.
Have fun y'all, the Midwest is too dang big and full of empty
I am hoping they do this, but have little faith they will. The margins are already slim and i can't see them stripping out all the bells.
Crank windows, manual locks, no sensors, boring radio, no driving modes, simple speedo, etc. All these are great but i really don't see Ford deciding to...
Sell it online before. Dealers don't want these kinds of junkers and at best will offer you a minimal percentage of what it will get at auction.
I just sold a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that was beat to hell for $2300, so see what you can get online.
The "$1000 junker" market has been decimated and...
I've popped mine (MY23 XLT) out a few times and haven't had an issue.
I did though have an issue with one of the retainers on the bed lighting/taillight spinning in place.
This was driving me bonkers still, as it would only connect if I briefly plugged it in and then removed it.
I figured out my issue.
I went into Android Auto and "forgot" the Ford Audio that was in there. Now it works everytime with no issues!
Thanks for the heads up that it wasn't a...
It's really sad when a TSB prescribes the same kinda fix I would do on a $500 car to keep it limping along.
I swear the next one is going to be using coat hangers and zip ties.
How have you been doing with the MA1?
I have one and it has been sporadically not connecting. I have to run back through the set up at least once a week.
