As much as I am loyal to Ford, and fully believe in their products, this hybrid Maverick fiasco has me pissed off. Yes they shut off orders of hybrids a day early. But they should've shut it off on Saturday instead on Monday night if they can only build 35% as hybrids. But it gets worse. Ford in all their "better idea" wisdom decided to sell the Hybrid Mavericks in Brazil for 2023, instead of taking care of orders already placed here at home. For that I lost a bit of respect for them. It's not right.

It's crazy that folks are trying to defend Ford by putting the blame on the dealers and customers.

I waited over a year. I kept up with the shifting time lines for when the order banks were open. I spoke with a number of dealers. As soon as the order banks opened I was contacting dealers and trying to get an order in. My order was put in ASAP.

But somehow it's my fault if I don't get a hybrid because I should have known more people would order them than Ford has the ability to produce. Even though I got my order in first.

I did my part. It's 100% on Ford for allowing more orders than they can build. Only Ford knows how many orders they were getting. Not every independent dealer out there.

Sometimes its just Karma. Like the brand-spanking-new folks who are getting built in the first few weeks of production. They should buy lottery tickets, as they won. When they put us 2022 folks with cancelled VINs into place, there will be a gap before any more new 2023 folks get put into the building state.
My opinion is it is not Ford's personal attack on individual 2022 orders but more with your dealer and allocations. Ford has parts to build all configurations of the Maverick, with quantity limitations, but if your dealer does not have an available allocation you will never get build consideration. I have seen XL hybrids and EB to fully loaded Lariat Hybrids and EB being scheduled and built. My feeling is that dealers should have to reveal their sales numbers and potential allocations so the consumers can make a choice to move on to another dealer with better odds of getting orders processed. All this is just my opinion based on the forum information and my 2022 order experience and I am not intimate with the complete order and scheduling system.

Yes, and FORD SHOULD FIX THIS.

They did not.

How can dealers know what other dealers are ordering? You expect hundreds of small town dealers to magically know what guys like Tim are doing, taking in nearly a thousand orders.

It's on Ford.

Who controls the order bank? Ford was perfectly capable of shutting off hybrid orders on day 1 if needed. Did they? No.
Maybe, if possible, Ford should conservatively determine each dealers allocations and limit the sales accordingly. I would rather the dealer tell me they are out of allocations and move on to another dealer than promise something they cannot provide a year later. Then. if Ford can produce more than anticipated they can ship for dealer inventory.

Y’all must be new here, either wait it out or move on. They couldn’t fulfill all the orders last year (I was one of them) and they won’t this year either. I did get rolled over and have a production date set for 13 months after placing my original order. So from original order to my guess of delivery date is going to end up being 15-16 months, wouldn’t be shocked to see it end up at 18 months.

Plenty of people did get their orders under that time range. But, don’t hold your breath. Supply chain concerns, I guess rail workers could be going on strike and all around macro environment issues are going to keep the delays coming. Your best bet is to message your dealer and also Ford customer service to find out if you can switch over to an EB. But, last year that would bump you to the back of the line.

Ford will only be able to build about (half, I guess) of hybrid orders requested for 2023 and receive them in 23.
On other hand the capacity to build EB's are twice the amount requested (at least that is what is said on a post started).

I wonder if Ford would reach out and Give opportunity for those requested Hybrids to chose an EB instead and have it built and delivered in 23?

Additionally. Does Ford know which customers ordering hybrids in 23 will get their orders fulfilled in 2023 or do they just randomly pick who gets order fulfilled.
Note: I would like the option to cancel my order for 23 if I knew they weren't going to build my request ordered on 9/16/23
Just call your dealer and say no thanks you've bought a Santa Cruz 😂

Its only stupid,,,if indeed your a person that doesn't like to weight options by desiring to know facts. Thats called logic

You or a moderator edited the thread title. The original title was phrased as a statement or an announcement, not as a question or suggestion.

Curious what your source is for this. You state it as fact so I assume you have something from Ford with that info. All I have seen is random rumors with no basis on Facebook and some early comments here that Ford planned a 65 / 35 split. But no actual proof from Ford of even that, not that I've seen.

If true it is going to be a disappointing year for some, but even if Ford planned a 65 / 35 split doesn't mean they cannot adapt to reality. Let's hope so anyway.
I have found reading throgh the posts on here I get way more info than I ever got from Ford which is none.

I ordered a Lariat hybrid and after reading post I’m not sure I will see it. I inquired about a maverick a year ago from a dealer that I did not order from, today he called to say he has an XLT in stock for $10k over. I told him thanks but no thanks, would not even consider paying $1K over list let alone $10 K.

I'm failing to see how that is being selfish. For example, let's say I ordered my kid an XBOX Series X for Christmas. But someone else who ordered a Playstation 5 a day before I placed my XBOX order later realized that they might not get their Playstation and was able to change their order to an XBOX and get one that came available before I got my order filled. This in turn required my order to take longer and thus not arrive by Christmas. They didn't order an XBOX, they ordered a Playstation. Likewise, they didn't order an EB, they ordered a Hybrid. Different game system, different product. Different engine, different product.

Honestly, I'm not bent out of shape. Just trying to understand the other way of thinking. Now I will be if this scenario plays out.

Also, for the record, I already bought my kid's XBOX Series X and have it stashed away for Christmas. :ROFLMAO:

Kinda unrelated to this thread, but your kid is gonna love the Series X...

I’d guess that most of us 23’ hybrid folks knew going in that we shouldn’t be shocked by the chance that we wouldn’t get one. Especially if you follow these forums.

I have not had a chance to see Tims @fordvideoguy show from Thursday yet. Did he mention if there was any chance that a 2023 could be changed from a hybrid to a gas version?

That's putting the onus on the dealers instead of Ford.

Did Ford come out with an actual, clear statement like "We only have capacity to build X amount of Hybrids - you can order one, but you might not be selected for production" They did not.

At no point did Ford say "Hey, anyone ordering after this point will not get a Hybrid, so better order the EB".

If someone ordered the first day order banks opened - why is it unreasonable to expect that they wouldn't get that vehicle built?

Instead they constantly brush it off and say "We are working on it" Ford absolutely refuses to actually come out and say they can't build them.
Maybe as time goes on things will be better.

Not at this time. No word on being able to do it in the future.

Ford told dealers what their expected allocation was and even Tim said they put in extra orders with the hope Ford will be able to fulfill them. So, yes, Ford said, "we expect to allow you this many trucks at a 35/65 ratio."
Ford told dealers that they needed to order w/in their "expected allocation"...but Ford didn't let most dealers know what that expected allocation was until the last day or two the order banks were open. And there were errors in their numbers, so Ford had to send out revisions a week or two after the banks were closed.

So the majority 23 Maverick orders were already entered in WBDO before dealers knew what their expected allocation would be.
