There are just too many assumptions in this line of thinking. You may be right, but keep in mind, they watched order volume coming in..... they warned Dealers 4 days after order window opened that it would later close.... and then they closed the window...

Did they presell 100% of capacity? Dunno. We do know that while Maverick is crazy high demand, it is also catabolizing Ford Ranger sales, and Bronco sales are slowing.

Why did they close the order banks (with a lot of thoughtful preparation?).

You may be just fine. It makes sense for them to want cars on the lots of dealers.

I am speculating in the other direction, but it's plausible that they build everything that was ordered within the entirety of a year.
Yes it is plausible.

I waited 13 months, rolled over from 22 to 23, Maverick XLT, Hybrid, CP360, and last week I received an email from Ford stating my vehicle will be built the week of December 19th. I have been waiting a long time and if they tell me I cannot have a hybrid it will be the last Ford we ever buy. I really don’t believe anything anybody says anymore about what Ford will and will not make.
You need to check in with your dealer. All 2022 orders (who had assigned VINS and build dates AFTER 11/23/22, when MY 2022 production ENDS) were rolled over to 2023 orders on 11/14. Somewhere in the next day or so, you can confirm that the Order Ford converted is correct. If not, you can change some things. Do a search here if all that isn't clear. There are no 2022s being built in December or January, although many of us were given those dates. EDIT if you had no VIN, then this does not apply to you. There are three distinct groups of 2023 Maverick orders.

If you had followed what has happened to bronco and bronco sport orders over the last few years i dont think you would be as optimistic.

Why doesnt Ford just put a $2-3k premium upcharge on the hybrid, they will still sell all they make and maybe even out the demand with the eco.
I think they misjudged demand. They are "all-in" from a marketing perspective to be the first hybrid truck (maybe first hybrid vehicle), with hybrid coming standard.

Remember in 2022, Ecoboost was a surcharge. In 2023, it was the same cost for either option. They recognize that demand is high for hybrid. This bodes poorly for an AWD version of a hybrid IMO.

I was given a Vin# and a build date, my dealer said that if Ford said it will be built, it will be built. Stop worrying and just wait you will get your truck right after the New year.

Anyone know what percentage of Maverick production is fleet? Local outfitter has an entire herd of XL Hybrid in their lot last week getting decals for local utility locator and safety lighting etc.

That's rich...about 7000 of us HAD 2022 VINs and heard that same message...that you are golden on e you have a VIN...until, for the first time in history, it wasn't true and we were all cancelled..

Now IF you are talking about having a 2023 VIN and a 12/19 build date for a 2023, then you are likely one of the folks who are getting built before Ford can get its act together and re-schedule our old orders. Mine was ordered 11/3/21, and I got a VIN in September and an initial build date of 10/17/22.
